Join us for Okîsikow (Angel) Way Day
June 13, 2025

The City of Edmonton invites Edmontonians and members of the media to gather in honour of Okîsikow (Angel) Way Day. Okîsikow is the nêhiyawêwin (Cree) word for “angel.” This annual day of remembrance honours the lives of Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ peoples who have been lost to violence and reaffirms our collective commitment to truth, reconciliation and safety.

Date: Saturday, June 14
Time: 1 - 3 p.m.
Location: Churchill Square

The event will feature speakers, refreshments and reflections from community leaders. All are welcome to attend this heartfelt and meaningful gathering. Please wear red in remembrance or bring a red dress to hang in honour of the angels.

Let us come together to remember, reflect and act.
