Media are invited to join the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Heritage Council, Edmonton Community Foundation and Africa Centre at the Black History Month Initiative Fund Event. The event marks the start of Black History Month at City Hall by highlighting the recipients of the 2026 Black History Month Initiative Fund and will feature keynote speakers and cultural performances.

In collaboration with the Edmonton Community Foundation, Edmonton Heritage Council and Africa Centre, the Black History Month Initiative Fund supports Black-owned community organizations that host Black History Month events and activities throughout February.
