Blackstone tables multibillion-dollar PFS for Vietnam nickel play
Blackstone Minerals has tabled a stunning pre-feasibility study for its vertically integrated nickel mine and refinery project in Vietnam that shows a post-tax net present value as high as $3.57 billion at today’s nickel prices. Almost inexplicably the company says the US$854 million CAPEX required to build the project could be paid down in just 1.8 years from first production. It will churn out over half a billion US dollars a year in operating cashflows.

Strike on fast track to join Pilbara iron ore producers
Budding iron ore miner Strike Resources has secured a US$7.2 million loan facility earmarked to commence stage 1 development of its Paulsens East iron ore project in WA’s lucrative Pilbara region. Mobilisation is imminent and key contracts for haulage road construction and mining works are nearing execution. Stage 1 will deliver 400,000 tonnes of low-cost direct shipping ore for shipping from Port Hedland’s Utah Point in the 2022 calendar year according to the company.

ABx signs JV for QLD bauxite mine
ABx Group has signed a joint venture agreement with Alumin to develop its Sunrise bauxite mine and port project. The mine is expected to have a 20-year life and provide 50 direct local jobs. Situated 115km from Bundaberg Port in Queensland it is anticipated the mine will initially export 500,000 tonnes per year of metallurgical grade bauxite, scaling up to 2 million tonnes per year.

3 ounce to the tonne gold rock chips for Novo in Pilbara 
Canadian listed gold producer Novo Resources has struck high-grade gold up to a serious 91 grams per tonne, or nearly 3 ounces to the tonne, through rock chip sampling at the historic Pilgrims Rest gold mine within the company’s Station peak prospect in Western Australia. Other notable high-grade rock chips were 30 g/t gold, 13 g/t gold and 12 g/t gold.

Lefroy back on the rig at Burns copper-gold discovery
ASX-listed junior explorer Lefroy Exploration has re-embarked on its air core drilling campaign at its Burns prospect to infill and expand mineralisation surrounding a recently drilled duo of high-grade gold intersections. The explorer will sink 55 shallow vertical holes into the ground, churning out vital information that will guide deeper reverse circulation drilling scheduled for May.

Tietto hits over 503 grams per tonne gold in Africa
Tietto Minerals has produced another impressive set of high-grade gold hits from drilling at its flagship Abujar-Gludehi deposit in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, where it has already defined over three million ounces of the precious metal. One of the more notable results was a 1-metre section at 503.85 g/t gold from 83m.

Succession plan sees new MD for Arrow Minerals
African-focused Arrow Minerals has promoted its Technical Director Hugh Bresser to the top job in line with an established succession plan following the resignation of Managing Director Howard Golden who is leaving to pursue other interests. Golden led the company for three years through the consolidation of a significant land position in Burkina Faso and drove the resulting gold exploration programs.

Strickland onto zinc-lead feeder zone structure at Iroquois 
Soil assays from Strickland Metals’ Iroquois discovery show copper highs that map an interpreted feeder zone structure for zinc-lead mineralisation. The recent zinc-lead discovery is located on the western edge of the greater than 1.5km long feeder zone, creating excitement for the next round of drilling targeting the structure. Iroquois is in the Earaheedy Basin, WA’s newest base metals hotspot.

Aldoro unveils high-grade WA rubidium rock chips
Aldoro Resources has uncovered a string of high-grade rubidium from a pegmatite rock chip sampling program at its Wyemandoo project approximately 80 kilometres southeast of Mount Magnet in WA. According to the company, the assay results pointed to “exceptional” grades of up to 1.24 per cent in individual samples and says lithium and tantalum were also present.

Field testing leads to lithium sniffs for Kalamazoo
ASX-listed Kalamazoo Resources has received encouraging soil sampling results from its Marble Bar lithium project in the Pilbara district of Western Australia. Multiple, highly prospective soil anomalies have been identified by pXRF which the company says relate to lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatite mineralisation. Significantly, several of the soil anomalies defined have strike extents greater than a whopping 1km in length.

Tambourah eyes extensions to mineralised zones
Tambourah Metals is eyeing extensions to the known mineralisation at its Pilbara namesake project after recent soil sampling returned up to 3.05 grams per tonne gold. The project, located 85 kilometres southwest of Marble Bar, yielded plenty of other positive samples too with 177 of the 259 samples collected providing potential evidence of an extension to the existing mineralised zones.

Latin sidesteps cap raise with innovative $2.75m loan agreement 
Latin Resources has duck shoved its next capital raise with an innovative $2.75 million loan from prolific small-cap fund manager Lind Partners out of New York. Latin will guarantee repayment of the loan over the next 10 months out of funds raised from its existing options that are well in the money with a 1.2c December 22 strike. The money will bankroll Latin’s Brazilian lithium play.

Adriatic ramps up construction at Bosnian silver deposit
Development of ASX-listed Adriatic Metals’ Vares high-grade silver project in Bosnia is accelerating with construction starting on time as the company firmly eyes production by the second quarter of 2023. Adriatic is in the throes of appointing mining contractors, engineering consultants and key personnel as it finalises test work and orders mechanical equipment.

Calidus set for first Pilbara gold pour
Calidus Resources has cleared its final construction hurdle on time and on budget, with commissioning now underway of its 100 per cent owned Warrawoona gold project in the Pilbara region of WA. The company says it expects crushing and milling operations to start within the next eight weeks with first gold set to be poured approximately two weeks later.

Coda extends SA copper discovery 
Coda Minerals looks to be riding a winner at its Emmie Bluff Deeps IOCG-style copper discovery in South Australia after eyeing around 60 metres of chalcopyrite mineralisation in a recently completed step-out hole. The company says the cracking intercept has extended the strike length of the known mineralisation by nearly 60 per cent to 550m.

Frontier posts maiden resource for PNG gold project
Diversified explorer Frontier Resources has booked its maiden inferred mineral resource for its Saki project in PNG’s Central Province, located 70 kilometres from the capital Port Moresby. An independent report has outlined a JORC-compliant resource of two million tonnes at two grams of gold per tonne for 128,000 ounces of gold at the epithermal style deposit.

Javelin onto big copper-gold system at Coogee
Drilling by Javelin Minerals at its Coogee project 55 kilometres southeast of Kalgoorlie has delivered lower grade copper-gold hits over 40 metres wide and some shorter but very high-grade copper hits including two metres at 8.34 per cent copper. Another 19m intersection came in at 1.28 g/t gold and 0.15 per cent copper from 202m and included 9m at 1.75 g/t gold and 0.20 per cent copper from 202m.
