Over the past two years, COVID-19 has presented many challenges for learners undertaking these sizes of the qualification, where the work placement is an essential requirement to achieve the following qualifications.
- Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Children’s Play, Learning and Development (Early Years Educator) (720 GLH) 601/7571/0
- Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Children’s Play, Learning and Development (Early Years Educator) (1080 GLH) 601/7572/2
We have reflected upon the experiences of providers and learners during the last two years, and we have adapted our approach to work placement hours for Diploma and Extended Diploma sizes for the BTEC CPLD qualification. As such, we have
added an addendum to the BTEC Nationals page, found under course material, which describes our approach to the requirement of work placement hours as of 1 September 2022.
Furthermore, as a direct result of the feedback from some of our centres, we have also made a small amendment to Unit 9, which only applies to the Diploma and Extended Diploma:
The wording in Unit 9: Observation, Assessment and Planning Assessment criterion A.M1 was amended to remove ‘methods of’ and the Essential information for assessment decisions section for the Merit standard to align with the criterion.
