Strike joins elite club of Pilbara iron ore producers
Strike Resources has broken out from the pack of Pilbara exploration juniors who dream of one day becoming producers after the company made the giant leap into production at its Paulsens East mine in WA’s Pilbara region. It has managed to mobilise an arsenal of gear to site that will be used to churn out its maiden stockpile of lump direct shipping iron ore.

Costa Fuego throws up massive copper-gold hit for Hot Chili
Hot Chili’s Costa Fuego copper-gold porphyry discovery in Chile is continuing to give up seriously long copper-gold drill intersections with the latest hit over 876 metres grading 0.5 per cent copper. An even richer 206m intersection going 0.7 per cent copper and 0.3 per cent gold was contained within.

AVZ set to unlock huge African lithium project
AVZ Minerals’ ongoing development of its flagship Manono lithium and tin project, about 500km north of Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has received a major shot in the arm after acquiring a positive technical opinion from the Department of Mines, clearing the path for an imminent decision on its mining licence at the operation.

Great Southern confirms third mineralised system at Duketon, WA
The first holes drilled into the Amy Clarke target in more than 25 years have yielded high-grade gold hits for Great Southern Mining from an air core drilling program at its Duketon Gold project, near Laverton in WA’s Goldfields. Results included an intersection of 5 metres at 8.2 grams per tonne gold, including one metre at 33.5 g/t gold from 33m.

First gold pour on track for Tietto in West Africa
Tietto Minerals has taken another significant step towards its maiden gold production in West Africa with the first lift of concrete for its SAG mill poured and the assembly of the venture’s tailings storage facility now underway. The company says it is on track to pour its first gold by the end of the year at its fully funded 3.45-million-ounce Abujar gold project in Côte d’Ivoire.

Godolphin closes in on NSW copper-gold porphyry
Godolphin Resources has struck multiple mineralised copper veins with its first hole in search of a large porphyry copper-gold system in NSW. The explorer kicked off a two-hole diamond-drill program at its Yeoval porphyry copper-gold project on April 4 and now is shooting for possible extensions to the south of its current resource hoping its second hole will make it two from two.

Venus maps lithium extension at Youanmi
A geochemical survey at Venus Metals Corporation’s Youanmi lithium project has backed up previous drilling, with the company hoping recently delineated lithium anomalies are an extension of the Manindi lithium discovery to the south that excited the market last month. Interestingly, the extensions appear to coincide with existing and known pegmatite outcrops.

Blackstone to drill target that dwarfs Ban Phuc
Blackstone Minerals has secured Vietnamese approval to take its drills to the highly-prospective Chim Van target. The company says geophysical modelling suggests Chim Van is a concealed ultramafic target similar to the Ban Phuc disseminated sulphide deposit, however significantly it registers a magnetic signature that is an order of magnitude larger. Blackstone is currently wheeling the rig to the site, about 7km northwest of Ban Phuc.

Wiluna nets towering gold grades in WA
Wiluna Mining Corporation has intersected a flurry of ‘outstanding’ gold results from a first-hole probe of its Bulletin North Discovery target at its namesake mine site, about 750km northeast of Perth in Western Australia. According to the company, the results include a 0.3 metre section grading a staggering 3270 grams per tonne gold from 634m and a 1.5m hit going 8.30 g/t gold from 570m.

Ora Banda strips back Davyhurst to maximise immediate cashflows
Ora Banda Mining is planning to strip back its Goldfields Davyhurst gold mining operation to become a single deposit mine in the short term to maximise cashflows. Mining of the Riverina Stage 1 open pit will cease this quarter and the Sand King stage 1 pre-strip will be deferred until November as the company looks to turn the operation into a leaner, meaner cash cow in the short term

International Graphite begins trading on Frankfurt Stock Exchange
International Graphite is now a dual-listed company after its shares began trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. According to the company, the move to list on the German bourse signals its intention to cultivate close ties in the German market where it is investigating technology and discussing the testing of its Springdale graphite concentrate with downstream battery technology companies

Latin rings the till for $35m as big insto weighs in
In a stunning endorsement of Latin Resources’ relatively early-stage Salinas lithium project in Brazil, the company has put away a $35 million capital raise, corner-stoned by a serious Canadian fund that takes a strong interest in new energy and battery metals projects. And far from marking Latin’s share price back to the discounted capital raise price of 16c, the market propelled it on to touch 20.5c in intraday trading.

New gold-copper hit backs major WA system for Lefroy
Lefroy Exploration is confident it has a significant intrusion-related mineralised system at its Burns copper-gold prospect near Kambalda in Western Australia’s Goldfields region after a three-hole RC probe evaluating extensions to an existing discovery hole returned a multitude of significant gold-copper hits totalling 111 metres.  The strike includes a 20m intersection at 0.76 grams per tonne gold, 0.87 per cent copper and 3.6 g/t silver from 94m.

Triangle, Pilot ink Port of Geraldton oil export deal
WA oil producer Triangle Energy and partner Pilot Energy have signed an export deal with the Port of Geraldton to allow its Cliff Head Joint Venture to truck from expanded facilities at its Perth Basin processing plant through the Mid-West port, following the shutdown of BP’s Kwinana refinery as a receival point later in April.

Javelin spins the drill bit in WA gold copper search
Junior explorer Javelin Minerals has kicked off a 4000 metre air core drilling program at its Coogee project near Kalgoorlie in WA. Using a ‘lake drill rig’ the explorer will test gold and copper targets at its Coogee West area, including a 3 kilometre gold trend containing bottom-of-hole anomalous results of up to 0.47 grams per tonne gold. The project covers an area of about 17 square kilometres.
