Achievement District Test Coordinator Updates and Reminders
April 21, 2022
Achievement District Test Coordinators,

The computer-based testing windows for AASA ELA, AASA Math, and ACT Aspire will be closing on April 29, 2022. No test window extensions are available, so please administer any remaining AASA and/or ACT Aspire tests, including makeup tests, by the end of the school day on April 29th. As a reminder, the computer-based test windows for AASA Writing, AzSCI, and ACT, as well as all paper-based testing windows, are now closed.

A report is available in PAN to help identify students in your school or district/charter who have been assigned a test but who have not yet completed testing. This report is available for both AASA and ACT Aspire. To access the report in PAN, go to Reports > Operational Reports > Students & Registrations > Students Tests that have been Assigned but have not yet Completed.

For AASA, all student responses from Special Paper Version tests must also be entered in TestNav by 5:00pm on April 29, 2022.

Marking Tests Complete
  • AASA: Please do not mark tests "Complete" in PAN for AASA or AzSCI. Pearson is marking tests complete for these assessments.
  • ACT Aspire: As stated in the manuals, when an examinee finishes the last test, the examinee's status is automatically updated to "Completed." If an examinee does not finish testing (e.g., dismissal, illness), the room supervisor must manually mark the examinee's test complete.
Assistance Needed While Students are Testing

  • If students are testing, use "URGENT: Students Testing" in the subject area when contacting us. Emails received about students testing who need assistance right away are prioritized.
  • State the problem and provide only SSIDs of students - to protect student privacy, do not include student names.
Work Request Guidelines

Before approving a work request, please check if a student has already completed testing. Please use the following guidelines for AASA and ACT Aspire transfer requests:
  • If a student has not started testing, APPROVE the transfer request.
  • If a student has completed one or more test units, but has not completed the entire test, APPROVE the transfer request.
  • If a student has completed all test units of the assessment, REJECT the transfer request and indicate in the comments field, "Student has already completed testing."
Two notification banners have been added to PAN for AASA and are included below for reference:
  • An error has been identified in Grade 7 ELA Part 2, question 28. This item will be removed from scoring and will not contribute to the student's score. We apologize for any confusion that may arise as a result of this error. Please have students skip this item. If they do respond, their response will not be scored.
  • An error has been identified in some forms of Grade 7 Math Part 1, question 13. This item is a field test item and does not contribute to the student's score. We apologize for any confusion that may arise as a result of this error. Please instruct students to answer all questions to the best of their ability. This item will not be scored.
AASA Test Coordinator's Manuals and Test Administration Directions are not secure test material and do not need to be returned to Pearson after testing. These may be discarded locally.

Student test tickets and used scratch paper are secure test materials and must be securely destroyed (shredded) after testing.

If you have any questions about AASA, please contact us at AASA@azed.gov.
The ACT Aspire manual states that used testing tickets and scratch paper from ACT Aspire testing may either be saved for a year or shredded according to local guidelines. Please note that state guidelines are to securely destroy (shred) used testing tickets and scratch paper after testing.

If you have any questions about ACT Aspire, please contact us at Testing@azed.gov.
