The messy things keep getting in our way: mistrust, pre-judgement, self-righteousness, bias, deceit, and fear. How do we get back on track and do the things that will create the loving world God intends for us? St. James congregate and author, Pat Ross, will lead us in exploring these pressing issues in a 2-part group Zoom session. |

The Johnson County Museum Arts & Heritage Center exhibit, “Redlined”, is an absolute “must see” for everyone. It takes a deep dive into the history of redlining and how it was shaped by the Kansas City region. Learn about redlining’s 19th and 20th century foundations, how the private practice became federal policy, expanded during postwar suburbanization, the attempts to dismantle it, and how its legacies continue to impact communities and individuals in our nation today.
ARJ is hosting exclusive 45-minute private tours led by a museum docent. Following each tour, group discussions are held at the nearby Bistreaux Restaurant. Space is limited to just 20 participants at
each event.
Attendees are responsible for their own museum entry tickets and meal costs. The following additional dates have been added to the ARJ schedule. Invite friends and family to join you. Arrive by 9:30AM for 10:00AM tour.

ARJ presents a joy-filled evening commemorating the “Beloved Community” and the national celebration of Juneteenth. That was the day in 1865 when the last American slaves in Texas found out they were actually free; more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Officially recognized in 2021, it is the first federal holiday established since Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 1983.
ARJ is finalizing plans for a community-wide salute on June 25th. It will include a powerful music program led by Isaac S. Cates. There will be awe-inspiring educational exhibits recognizing Black inventors and young innovators. Enlightening messages will come from the Reverends
Adrienne Ewell (Redbridge UMC), Emanuel Cleaver III (St. James, UMC) and Adam Hamilton (United Methodist Church of the Resurrection). "Talking About Race"

Bring family and friends to this exhibit where you can begin to wrap your
minds around race in America and continue the journey of dismantling racism and inequity. The exhibit dives into historical understanding, community building, personal reflection, and committed anti-racist practice. You can choose your own journey through 8 different topic areas and begin to dig more deeply. The National Museum of African American History and Culture brings this excellent exhibit to the Museum at Prairie Fire. Free public access and appropriate for all ages.
