How #hashtags work

Hashtags are used to categorize keywords on Beam.gg. This feature allows users to easily follow topics and join conversations they are interested in. Clicking or tapping on a "hashtagged" word will show you the search results for all relevant posts. 

Use hashtags by typing #keywords without spaces, punctuation, or symbols.
How @mentions work

Mentions are a way to directly notify users in a post or comment. Their main purpose is to get someone's attention or show that you're talking to them specifically. This makes the process of starting and joining conversations much easier! 

Mention users by typing @username or @firstname.
