Gold production on the up and up for Ora Banda

Ora Banda Mining says its central Davyhurst gold processing hub and surrounding satellite mines in WA’s Eastern Goldfields have continued to make performance improvements across the board during the operation’s current ramp-up phase. The company eked out gold production of just over 2,450 ounces in the past couple of weeks and estimates total gold output of about 9,000 ounces across July and August. |

Torian hits more WA gold at Stirling Well

Junior exploration company, Torian Resources has delivered several significant gold drill hits at its Stirling Well deposit some 40km north-west of Leonora in WA including 1m at an impressive 16.81 g/t gold. The company says the recently announced results have increased the mineralised footprint beyond the existing resource which already consists of 253,500 tonnes going 2.01 g/t gold for more than 16,000 ounces of the precious yellow metal. |

New Canadian oil wells hit early production budgets for Calima
|
Calima Energy says its four new oil wells drilled in Canada have now been operational for 30 days and have hit their “risked budgeted number range”. Each well was drilled in just under seven days and averaged 176 boe/d per well over the initial 30-day period. They were drilled into the Sunburst formation at the company’s Brooks oil field in Alberta. |

Quantum fires up rig for SA graphite hunt

Quantum Graphite has launched into an eight-hole diamond drilling campaign over the ‘Eastern conductor’ near its Uley 2 graphite deposit on the Eyre Peninsula in SA. Uley 2 already boasts a 6.3 million tonne resource going 11.1 per cent total graphite content, with reserves clocking in at 4Mt at 11.89 per cent. The company is now looking to grow the resource and reserves via a two-phase drilling campaign. |

Venus Metals and Rox Resources say they have identified what looks to be a new gold lode parallel to the old Youanmi mine at their joint ventured Youanmi gold project in WA. The JV partners’ continuing drilling campaign at Youanmi recently returned a pulse quickening 4-metre intersection going an impressive 45.5 g/t gold from 341m including 1.33m grading an even more impressive 129.3 g/t gold from 341.75m. |

Kingwest boosts underground gold resource at Menzies

Kingwest Resources has boosted its underground resource at its Yunndaga deposit within the Menzies gold project 6km south of Menzies. Importantly, the new estimate represents Kingwest’s first “high grade” resource estimate for Yunndaga and the company says the deposit may now be amenable to underground mining. New estimates are based on 13 new RC drill holes focused on eking out some high grade dirt at the Yunndaga underground deposit. |

More sulphide hits for Caeneus near Hemi discovery

Caeneus Minerals has now completed over half its maiden air-core drilling program at its Roberts Hill project in Western Australia, with almost 10,000 metres drilled to date. One drill hole recovered a whopping 28 metres of mixed sulphides and more than 20 drill holes have now recovered significant sulphides. Company geologists are now frantically logging the holes as they await assay results. |

Horizon upgrades satellite gold resource after stellar drill results

ASX-listed gold developer Horizon Minerals has released a new mineral resource estimate for its Crake project about 25 kilometres west of its proposed Boorara gold mine near Kalgoorlie. A series of stellar drill results have now moved 95 per cent of the resource into the coveted indicated category and metallurgical test work is also scrubbing up well at up to 98.9 per cent recoveries from the oxides. |

ASX-listed Reedy Lagoon Corporation saw its share price nearly double in intraday trading after the company announced it had its foot on an additional 1,554 hectares of tenure adjoining its 100 per cent owned Alkali Lake North lithium brine project in Nevada. The expanded project area now takes in more than 2,500 hectares and covers the entire lithium brine target previously identified via geophysical surveying. |
