Castle produces encouraging Ghana graphite concentrate results
Castle Minerals has moved a step closer to launching a drilling campaign at its Kambale graphite project in Ghana’ following recent encouraging initial metallurgical test work results. The company says preliminary test work on near-surface, weathered graphitic schists produced fine flake graphite concentrate grades of up to 96.4 per cent total carbon and average recoveries of 88 per cent via a conventional grind and flotation concentration process flow sheet.

Comet delivers high purity battery-grade graphite
Specialist test work on natural flake graphite sourced from Comet Resources’ 100 per cent owned Springdale graphite project in the south of Western Australia has demonstrated its suitability to produce a precursor material for use in the manufacture of lithium-ion battery anodes. Comet says the results enhance the prospects for future development of the project.

Copper Search hits ASX in style
ASX newcomer Copper Search made a strong debut on the bourse this week after successfully shaking the tin for $12 million in a well-supported initial public offering prior to listing. The junior copper explorer’s $0.35-a-share IPO hit the boards at the ASX in style on Wednesday, with the stock trading between $0.38 and $0.44 in the three days since the company listed.

Riedel reignites high-grade Arizona gold-silver probe
Riedel Resources is in the field again with a drill rig at its historic Kingman gold project in Arizona in the US as it follows up on a set of cracking assay results from a successful maiden drilling program earlier in the year. The company says the new RC campaign that commenced last week will zero in on the old Tintic mine area where it previously produced some spectacular near-surface intersections.

Reedy looks to new lithium extraction technology for Nevada project
After a hiatus period, junior lithium brine explorer, Reedy Lagoon has launched geophysical survey works to better define lithium brine targets at its newly expanded Alkali Lake North tenure in Nevada. The company says it is hopeful that new direct extraction technology being trialled will thrust its American lithium brine project back in the spotlight that it first started proving up in 2016.

Torian goes crypto as Leonora assets provide hint of gold
ASX-listed junior gold explorer Torian Resources says it has encountered gold mineralisation at high priority prospects at its flagship Mt Stirling project about 40 kilometres north-west of Leonora in WA following a round of auger vacuum drilling. The company has also dipped its toes into the cryptocurrency space via an equity swap arrangement with blockchain outfit BullionFX.

Aldoro set to drill test rubidium pegmatites in WA
Aldoro Resources has completed a site visit to its newly acquired Niobe project area in WA and has defined the extent of the anticipated rubidium footprint over several pegmatite prospects. Rock chip samples collected were analysed with a portable XRF gun which confirmed elevated rubidium values associated with zinnwaldite mica. Sixty-six planned drill holes have been pegged for a reverse circulation drill programme scheduled to kick off in October pending access clearances.

Strategic Elements’ prototype “battery ink” cells have generated more than a milliamp of electrical current, simply from using humidity in the air. The company says the milestone achievement potentially widens the array of devices that may be able to be powered by its “moisture-based” battery technology. ASX-listed Lithium Australia is seeking to carve out a niche position as one of the only providers of nickel-free and cobalt-free cathode materials outside of China. Mineral exploration company, Superior Resources has unleashed the drill rig at its Bottletree copper prospect in northern Queensland to test the core of a large geophysical anomaly where previous drilling on its northern margins hit an eye-catching 292m interval going 0.22 per cent copper. The company says recent 3D geophysical modelling confirms potential for the discovery of a major copper deposit.

New targets potential “game changers” for Hot Chili at Costa Fuego
ASX-listed Hot Chilli has unearthed two large geochemical targets, Productora Central and Santiago, considered to be potential “game-changers” at its Costa Fuego copper-gold development hub in Chile. The company is looking to manufacture a high-purity manganese sulphate monohydrate product for use in the thriving lithium-ion battery industry.

Calima Energy top line jumps on Canadian oil production gains
Canadian oil and gas producer Calima Energy increased its operating netback for August by nine per cent on growing production. August sales volumes of 3,493 barrels is up 202 barrels from July for a 6 per cent month on month increase. The improved production is from existing wells and three new wells planned to come on stream within a month.

Antilles seeks to expands Cuban gold hunt
Antilles Gold is seeking to get its foot on a slew of copper-gold deposits in Cuba after signing a letter of intent with a government-owned entity that will allow it to assess multiple potential gold projects. Six mining concessions are up for grabs with 20 known historic deposits, potentially adding a string of golden opportunities to the company’s lucrative pipeline in the under-explored region.

Si6 to narrow Botswana nickel-copper hunt with survey
ASX-listed Si6 Metals is neck-deep in a ground geophysical survey at its Dibete, Airstrip and Maibele North prospects in eastern Botswana. Previous similar surveys have successfully mapped and extended existing nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation at Maibele North which boasts a 2.38 million tonne resource grading 0.72 per cent nickel and 0.21 per cent copper. Si6 is preparing a drill campaign to test the new targets.

Strike sells “hedged” iron ore at US$141.50 a tonne
Strike Resources forward planning and risk management strategy at its Peruvian iron ore mine has paid off after the company sold its maiden shipment of iron ore to its Chinese mill customer at a hedged price of US$141.50 per tonne, despite the market rate plummeting recently to around US$104. Iron ore prices have plunged more than US$100 a tonne since late July.

Lefroy drill hits build remarkable Burns gold-copper discovery
Junior explorer Lefroy Exploration has rattled off another clutch of broad drill intersections from three diamond holes at its remarkable Burns gold-copper prospect within the company’s Eastern Lefroy project near Kambalda. The pick of the recent drill hits was 27.4m at grades averaging 1.93 g/t gold and 0.22 per cent copper from 219.8m including 1m at 33.7 g/t gold and 0.93 per cent copper from 226.8m.
