Achievement District Test Coordinator Updates
October 18, 2021
Achievement District Test Coordinators,

Please see updates and reminders regarding 2021-2022 Achievement testing below. If you have any questions, please contact us at AASA@azed.gov or AzSCI@azed.gov.
AASA Grade 3 Oral Reading Fluency

New resources have been added to our website regarding the Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) test section for third grade students. These resources are located on the Achievement DTC page, the AASA page, and the Educator Resources page of our website, and links to each are also included below.
Special Paper Version (SPV) Test Requests - AASA, AzSCI, ACT Aspire

ADE has created a new one-page guide to the Special Paper Version Test request process for AASA (including the AASA Writing Stand-Alone Field Test), AzSCI, and ACT Aspire.

Reminder: The window for submitting requests for SPV tests (Braille, large print, and regular print paper) for the AASA Writing Stand-Alone Field Test (SAFT), the AASA operational test, AzSCI, and ACT Aspire is now open. Please submit requests early to allow time for ADE review and for submitting additional documentation, if necessary. The deadline for submitting requests is February 25, 2022; however, AASA requests, in particular, should be submitted prior to Winter Break to ensure SPV tests are available for the SAFT window, January 24-February 18, 2022.

Submit SPV test requests using this secure link: https://www.azed.gov/assessment/spv2022

New for Spring 2022: Because the system is new to many users, ADE will create the SPV test session in PearsonAccessnext for any student(s) with an approved SPV test and will move the student(s) into the SPV test session prior to testing. ADE will also place an order for any approved SPV tests at the beginning of the Additional Order window for each assessment.
ACT Accommodations Requests
Submit by January 7, 2022

ACT accommodations requests should be submitted directly to ACT using the Test Accessibility and Accommodations (TAA) system. More information is available on the ACT-hosted website for Arizona (Step 3). The deadline for submissions is January 7, 2022; however, we strongly encourage you to submit all requests prior to Winter Break. The January 7, 2022 deadline is a hard deadline, and ACT is not able to accept initial requests after that date.
ACT Resources and Webinars

ACT will be hosting three webinars for Arizona test coordinators. Registration links are included below and are also included in the ACT Schedule of Events, which is posted on the ACT-hosted website for Arizona.

ACT's PearsonAccessNext system will open on November 1, 2021. DTCs with Grade 11/Cohort 2023 students will receive an automated email with access and to set up their passwords on that day.

Between November 1 - December 3, 2021, DTCs will need to select the ACT test window, online vs. paper testing, and the preferred materials delivery date for each school. Steps for completing this task will be covered in the November 3rd webinar. If you are not able to attend the live webinar, it will be recorded and posted on the ACT-hosted website for Arizona.
Note: Online vs. paper testing should match what was submitted to ADE through the ADEConnect Testing Mode Application.

ADE held a Friday Focus webinar on September 24th, which was focused on the statewide high school assessments. An FAQ document, summarizing the questions and answers from that webinar, has been posted on our website: https://www.azed.gov/assessment, under the "Friday Focus Webinars 2021-2022 dropdown.

ACT Aspire

On the ACT-hosted website for Arizona, there is also a tab for ACT Aspire. An ACT Aspire Schedule of Events, manuals, and training videos will be posted on this webpage soon.
If you have any questions, please contact us at AASA@azed.gov or AzSCI@azed.gov.
