Grimm house
Candlelit Walk

Congratulations to the Halloween Candlelit Walk team for delivering another amazing show at Gill Banks. This year, the shadowy scenes and cast of spooky characters were inspired by Grimm's Fairytales. Tickets for this popular family event were sold out weeks in advance.

There were glowing installations by artists Tracey Escolme, Ellie Chaney, Nat Tyson, Hannah Clarke, Neil Wade, Jennie Dennett, and Lindsay Ward. The Song Birds ‘Feel Good Singers’ provided haunting tunes. Matrix Circus danced with fire. Coupled with ghastly stories and a grizzly grandma, it was another Ulverston night to remember.
Streetlink
Help Protect Rough Sleepers

Being out in the cold or adverse weather can be dangerous, especially if you have nowhere else to go. Westmorland & Furness Council’s Homelessness Team monitor weather conditions throughout the year, and has Severe Weather Emergency Protocols in place to provide emergency accommodation for people who are sleeping rough.

If you see someone who is bedded down or about to bed down in the open air, please let the council know so that they can offer support. You can do this by visiting the Streetlink website, or by contacting the Homelessness Team directly. Your action can save their life.

Please phone 999 if you think someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent care.

Ulverston Amplified at The Coro
Ulverston Amplified

6pm 1st November at The Coro

Tickets: Book here

Up and coming groups from Furness will be showcasing their music at a brand new local band night at the Coro. Ulverston Amplified aims to give local groups a platform to perform to a large audience with professional technical equipment and support.

The show is a response to a call out on the Coro’s social media asking if local bands would be interested in performing at the venue. The post received a huge response with more than 60 comments suggesting local artists and groups. As a result, a line-up was put together featuring The Spiratones, Fizzy Milk (DJ set), Big Pharmer, Divers Green, Moody Brew, and Juno and the Moons.

Coro General Manager Rick Holden said, “It is important, as a community venue, that we support local artists and give them a platform to hone their skills as musicians. We were delighted by the response we got to the social media post, which proves there is a huge pool of musicians desperate for the opportunity to play on a big stage, which will help them develop and reach a wider audience. We are excited to see such a varied line-up of great bands, and we really hope that local people get behind it so we can do more shows like this in the future.”.
