For Giving Tuesday 2021, we wanted to talk about the future of the Clinica Colfax. The clinic has now been open for 2 years and we have made huge strides in health. Our clinic services 12 villages 30 minutes outside the Tecpan City area. We have implemented a vitamin program for all ages as well as control for High Blood Pressure and Diabetes. But this is only the beginning! Giving out medicine is only one part of what makes a community healthy. The other parts are clean water and a healthy diet. All 3 must be in place to provide a balanced health service to these communities. Our plan for 2022, is to make sure each village has clean drinking water and we will educate every person, even if we have to go door to door, to learn how to eat and take care of themselves correctly. So the only question now, is how can you help? |
|
|
Our goal for 2022 is to educate all 12 villages (using short videos) on Clean water, Hygiene, diabetes, High blood pressure, and Bible stories. We will also have classes on crochet, reading, writing, crafts, and painting. The ladies enjoy having their hair done and fingernails painted. |

Clean Water through our Pure Agua Project |
Our goal in 2022 is to install 21 municipal water purification systems. Each system can deliver all the clean drinking water a village of up to 1,000 people needs. These systems not only filter the water but they purify it! It is a fantastic solution for most of the villages we serve.

|
Some locations may require site modifications/improvements to optimize the water purification system installation. These may include but are not limited to platform base structure for tank(s), plumbing/piping of water from source to tank, overhead shelter of purification site, water distribution/extraction points, security. Cost: varies to the extent of necessary infrastructure improvements
On average, each system will cost US$2,000 to install. When you divide the cost over the amount of gallons processed in the first year, the clean water generated from this system will cost less than a penny a gallon! Properly maintained, these systems will last many more valuable years before needing refurbishment.
Will you partner with us to provide 12,000 people with clean water this year? |
Free Medicine & Vitamins - Clinica Colfax |
Almost half of the children in Guatemala under 5 years old suffer from generational poverty. They are chronically malnourished and lack the vital vitamins and minerals needed grow up healthy and strong. Currently, they have no hope for the future because their body never fully develops because of the undernourishment at an early age. |
|
|
Our goal is to change this fact by providing medication and multi-vitamins to these vulnerable children and their families. These medications and vitamins are expensive though, and we don’t charge anything for our treatments. We need your help to purchase these much needed supplies. For half the cost of a single meal at your favorite fast food restaurant ($10) you can provide a child one daily multi-vitamin and a parasite prevention regimen for a whole year.
This is just one of the issues we treat at our clinics. Diabetes and high blood pressure are common in Guatemala, along with infections, burns and common ailments, to name a few. We need your help to purchase the needed medications to care for these people suffering from extreme poverty and have them shipped here.
Would you help us provide medicine to 12 villages this year? |
