Kula looks downstream after tabling massive WA kaolin resource
Kula Gold has tabled an independently certified 93.3Mt maiden resource at its Boomerang kaolin prospect near the Southern Cross region of WA. The company has pushed the discovery towards a JORC-compliant resource in just 12 months and is looking to punch out an annual production target of up to 500 kilotonnes via an open-pit mining operation with an estimated lifespan of more than 50 years.

Kaiser eyes second Victoria gold mine after resource estimate
Kaiser Reef says a maiden mineral resource estimate for its Maldon gold project in Victoria has exceeded expectations as the producer aims at its second high-grade gold mine. The resource estimate of 1.2 million tonnes at an inferred rate of 4.4 grams per tonne for 186,656 ounces of gold at Maldon is 300km west of Kaiser’s operating A1 gold mine. The company has mining permission for Maldon and access to its nearby processing plant.

Tietto lands 5 ounces gold to the tonne in West Africa
Perth-based gold developer Tietto Minerals has swept up yet another set of high-grade gold intercepts from a rolling infill diamond drilling campaign at its 3.45-million-ounce Abujar project in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa. The assay results from 30 holes plunged at the company’s AG Core deposit included 0.72m running a cracking 144.34 grams per tonne gold from just 10m.

Si6 commits to ESG reporting with new platform
ASX-listed Si6 Metals has engaged monitoring platform Socialsuite to streamline the explorer’s disclosure and reporting process for its recently adopted environmental, social and governance, or “ESG” framework. The company says there are increasing expectations on mining and exploration companies to improve ESG performance and believes the framework outlined by the World Economic Forum is the most appropriate for the explorer.

Former SQM Superintendent to drive Galan lithium chase
Galan Lithium has appointed former SQM Hydrogeology Superintendent Alvaro Henríquez as its new Exploration Manager. Henríquez will be responsible for ramping up the company’s exploration and development efforts at its battery metal projects in Australia and Argentina. He has more than two decades experience in the mining sector and will join Galan from one of the world’s largest lithium producers.

Industry veteran takes helm at junior explorer Zuleika
West Perth-based explorer Zuleika Gold has appointed Jonathan Lea as Managing Director, aiming to use his combination of geologist and corporate experience of 35-plus years to drive the junior explorer’s pursuit of opportunities. Lea’s career spans gold, iron ore and base metals in open-cut and underground operations in Australia and overseas. Most recently he was Managing Director of Ozz Resources.

ABx kick-starts lab reactors for high-end aluminium product
ABx Group subsidiary Alcore has completed the commissioning of three laboratory reactors in its efforts to produce a high-value essential ingredient for aluminium smelting from a smelter waste product. If its process is successful, it would deliver the bonus benefit of providing a local supply of the essential ingredient aluminium fluoride in addition to providing a waste disposal solution.

Infinity onto copper-nickel-gold targets for Pilbara campaign
Infinity Mining has highlighted nine high-priority copper-nickel-gold targets for a drilling campaign likely to start this year at its Hillside project about 50km south of Marble Bar in WA’s Pilbara region. The company says it has combined historic exploration, drilling and both ground and air geophysical surveys with a comprehensive soil and rock-chip program to identify the nine proposed holes.

International Graphite hits visible mineralisation in WA
International Graphite has intersected multiple visible zones of shallow graphite mineralisation over a strike length of up to 700m in the company’s first RC outing at its Springdale project near Hopetoun in WA’s South West. The nine-hole, 715m program was run adjacent to its existing resource with management believing the new zones underline the project’s exploration potential.

Chilean copper results give Hot Chili timely boost
WA-based junior explorer Hot Chili has been encouraged by the latest assay results from its drilling in Chile, ahead of an upcoming resource upgrade and pre-feasibility study, for its promising Costa Fuego copper project. Headline figures include an excellent 484m grading 0.5 per cent copper equivalent from 548m including 56m going 1 per cent.

American West gets rods turning in Canadian copper hunt
Perth-based American West Metals has kicked off a maiden drilling program at its Storm project on Somerset Island in Nunavut, Canada, where a number of high-grade copper targets will be tested.  The campaign follows up on a raft of solid historical hits including 110m at 2.45 per cent copper from surface and 56.3m grading 3.07 per cent copper from 12.2m.

Earn-in agreement bolsters Cazaly’s Queensland tin prospects
Cazaly Resources, through its subsidiary Vanrock Resources, has entered an agreement to earn into the multi-metal Vanrock project in central north Queensland after signing a deal with privately owned Lynd Resources. The agreement is subject to due diligence that includes Cazaly committing to fund the drilling of a single planned hole at the Vanrock target by the end of November.

Conico to drill deeper after multi-metal discovery next door
After a major metal discovery only 200m from its fence line, junior explorer Conico will embark on a 5000m diamond and RC drilling program at the company’s Mt Thirsty project in search of platinum group metals and lithium. With all relevant approvals in order and target generation nearing completion, the maiden program, 16km north-north-west of Norseman in WA, is set to kick off early next month.

CZR gets drilling as DFS looms for Pilbara iron ore project
CZR Resources has moved swiftly to kick off drilling in order to establish a definitive feasibility study for its Robe Mesa iron ore project in WA’s Pilbara region after receiving heritage approval last month. The company is targeting the northern extension of Rio Tinto’s neighbouring Mesa F deposit as it aims to grow its iron ore inventory and increase production rate up to three million tonnes per annum from 2mtpa as outlined in CZR’s pre-feasibility study.

NSW copper hit may swell Godolphin resource
Godolphin Resources has hit a broad intersection of anomalous copper at its Yeoval South prospect near Orange in NSW, just 350m south of the operation’s existing 12.8 million tonne mineral resource. The broad hit of 276m grading 0.12 per cent copper from 128m came from a two-hole, 900m program aiming to test the southern extensions of the mineral resource and homing in on copper at depth.
