Latin joins lithium glitterati with tabling of bumper resource
Latin Resources has joined the ranks of lithium market darlings such as Core Lithium and Global lithium after tabling a bumper first-up maiden resource in Brazil that sizes up well against Core and Global. The 13.3m tonne resource going a respectable 1.2 per cent lithium oxide also has upside according to Latin management who has wrapped an exploration target around the project of between 13.5m tonnes and 22m tonnes grading between 1.2 per cent to 1.5 per cent lithium oxide.

CZR boosts Pilbara iron ore resource to 45.2Mt
Pilbara iron ore explorer CZR Resources has recorded a 20 per cent increase to its Robe Mesa project mineral resource on the doorstep of Rio Tinto’s prolific Robe Valley precinct to 45.2 million tonnes. Robe’s resource contains a 56 per cent grade, or 62.7 per cent once roasted. The company is hoping to increase the production rate – currently slated at 2mtpa – by one million tonnes per year and stretch out the mine life.

Richmond Vanadium joins ASX amid battery metals boom
Horizon Minerals' spin-off Richmond Vanadium Technology has joined the ASX following a successful $25 million initial public offering as it presses ahead with a bankable feasibility study to open a potentially world-class battery metals mine in northern Queensland. Some 62.5 million shares were issued under the IPO at 40c a pop, including to eligible Horizon shareholders.

Tietto eyes second gold mine after scoping study
Favourable results from a scoping study on Tietto Minerals’ APG deposit in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa indicate the company could develop the asset into the operation’s second gold mine via a heap leach processing operation. The forecast suggests the asset could churn out 850,000 ounces over a 10-year mine life and deliver revenue of US$1.5 billion under an assumed gold price of $US1750 an ounce.

St George teams up with battery giant for WA lithium projects
St George Mining has entered a memorandum of understanding with global battery giant SVOLT Energy Technology to collaborate on lithium projects including the explorer’s Mt Alexander operation near Leonora in Western Australia. The agreement establishes a framework for St George and SVOLT to negotiate and consider entering a range of commercial transactions for investment and offtake opportunities relating to lithium projects in Australia.

Codrus shares double with high-grade rare earths
Codrus Minerals has received high-grade assay results from grab samples taken from the company’s Karloning project in the Wheatbelt confirming the potential for the site to host high-value magnet rare earths. The impressive grades include a whopping 18.6 per cent tantalum that also included 6.41 per cent niobium from one sample whilst another recorded 2.85 per cent dysprosium oxide.

Venture, Chalice JV to test WA nickel-copper-PGE play
After locking onto two new nickel-copper-PGE targets in WA’s South West the JV between Chalice Mining and Venture Minerals is ready to take its exploration to the next stage with surveys and a sampling program. The duo’s South West project hosts the Thor prospect, a 20km long magnetic anomaly containing multiple electro-magnetic targets which is giving Chalice a sense of deja vu.

Kaiser celebrates major milestone with 100th gold bar
Kaiser Reef has hit a major milestone after pouring its 100th gold bar from ore at its A1 underground gold mine in Victoria in addition to upgrading key infrastructure at the company’s Maldon processing plant. The gold producer has installed a replacement leach tank and direct drive agitator at Maldon that the company says increases efficiency and operational availability.

Empire NT gas play eludes government price cap
Amidst new legislation aiming at curbing surging energy prices on the east coast, Empire Energy’s Beetaloo sub-basin gas assets in the Northern Territory have been made exempt from a temporary domestic price cap of $12 a gigajoule. The 12-month ceiling targets producers with new domestic wholesale gas contracts, however the directive only applies to in-operation gas fields – leaving Empire’s undeveloped holdings unaffected.

Infill samples to define Cazaly’s African lithium play
Cazaly Resources has finished bagging hundreds of soil samples to firm up what the company says may be a large sediment-hosted lithium deposit in northern Namibia near Africa’s Skeleton Coast. Lithium is one of several battery metals the Australian explorer is testing for in the region on the edge of a major copper-cobalt bearing system.

Torque nails down shallow rare earths at Southern Cross project
Torque Metals has confirmed the rare earths potential of its Bullfinch project after results from its RC campaign at its Withers Find prospect showed the presence of neodymium and praseodymium in each hole. The 1600m program also unearthed pegmatite-hosted rare earth elements in multiple holes from surface including a 3m hit at 0.1 per cent total rare earth oxides including 187.15 parts-per-million neodymium-praseodymium from 15m at the site about 40km from Southern Cross.

Lindian assays imminent as drilling continues at Malawi project
Lindian Resources says its first assays from a maiden drill campaign at the company’s Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi are due this month with one quarter of its RC and diamond drill program completed. The explorer is currently undertaking phase 1 of its 12,500m resource definition drilling operation including 10,000m of RC drilling and a further 2500m of diamond drilling to test mineralisation to a depth of 300m. The 44-hole campaign includes two RC rigs and one diamond drill rig.

Novo hits copper near 14Mt WA asset
RC drilling at Novo Resources’ Milburn nickel-copper-gold target near Karratha in WA has returned a swag of anomalous copper hits including 3m at 0.59 per cent from 94m, inside of a broader 13m intercept grading 0.39 per cent from 92m. The operation is adjacent to Artemis Resources’ Carlow Castle project where earlier this year the company outlined a 14.3 million tonne inferred resource going 0.4 per cent for 53,000 tonnes of contained copper.

Galan inks $3m deal for full control of WA lithium play
Galan Lithium will buy out Lithium Australia to gain 100 per cent control of the Greenbushes South lithium project on the doorstep of the largest lithium mine in the world. The deal includes $2m cash, $1m in shares and an offtake agreement that gives Lithium Australia access to the product it needs to underscore a commercial lithium metal phosphate cathode powders facility.

Godolphin nears resource update after rare earths hit
Godolphin Resources has used a 5-hole diamond drilling campaign to light up rare earths mineralisation at its Narraburra project in NSW that will ultimately flow into a new year resource update. Significant intercepts include 2m at 1238 parts per million total rare earth oxides from 15m and on the back of the latest results the company believes a much larger rare earths system may be on offer given the strikes were acquired outside of the site’s known mineralisation.
