PTO NEWSLETTER
January 2023
SHMS PTO has immediate needs in the following areas.  Please consider helping out! 

- NEWSLETTER - Create a monthly Newsletter (like this one!) to communicate SHMS information such as PTO News, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and celebrations. 

- PRESIDENT - Head up the PTO executive board, facilitate the PTO monthly meetings, and help support our amazing volunteers to support our school.  No experience necessary! 

- 2023 FESTIVUS TEAM - Help make our next Festivus even better than last year!

- 8TH GRADE CONTINUATION - Help plan and execute a celebration of our soon to be High Schoolers at the end of May.

December Holiday Teacher Appreciation!  
To show your and our appreciation for the wonderful staff at SHMS we provided a Coffee Cart, cupcakes from Kim and Jakes, chocolate, and a gift certificate to Southern Sun. Your Cougar Challenge donations made that happen! 
Our SHMS Teachers Appreciate You! 
The PTO has received many emails and comments from our SHMS Teachers expressing their appreciation for your donations to the Cougar Challenge and we thought you might like to hear about some. The new Choir Director, Shauna Keene,  would like to thank you all for the sturdy reusable Choir specific folders that will last for many years.  
Yonne Rodriguez, one of the Spanish teachers, would like to thank everyone for the amazing gift certificate to Southern Sun...she throughly enjoyed it!

Let's Support our Volunteer Judges! 
National History Day - February 2nd 
SHMS is hosting National History Day and needs help providing breakfast, lunch and snacks for the 30-40 judges that have generously donated their time for this all day event.  A catered lunch will be provided from your donated funds.  Please see the sign up below if you can help out with donations or with serving.
