Achievement District Test Coordinator Updates
February 8, 2023
Achievement District Test Coordinators (DTCs),

Please see this week's statewide achievement testing updates and reminders below.

As you verify student enrollments in the PearsonAccessNext (PAN) sites, please remember that withdrawn students do not need to be removed from PAN. PAN is not used for Accountability purposes, so these student records can remain in PAN as is.
AASA

Upcoming Deadlines:
  • February 13, 2023 - Deadline to verify contact information and shipping address in PearsonAccessNext (PAN). All changes or corrections must be made by notifying ADE at AASA@azed.gov. If you are the District Test Coordinator for multiple districts or charters, each district or charter must be verified separately.
  • February 17, 2023 - Deadline for paper-based testing schools to add students in PAN and receive preprinted ID labels. Student demographic information will need to be bubbled in on test booklets for students added after this date.
  • February 24, 2023 - Submit requests, as needed, for Special Paper Version (braille, large print, or regular print) tests or additional accommodations. Please also see the Achievement Assessments Accommodations Manual for details about Universal Test Administration Conditions.
Ongoing Tasks:
  • Create user accounts in PAN.
  • Add students in PAN if they are newly enrolled or if they were missed in ADE's student upload.
  • Submit work requests in PAN if students have transferred from one school/district to another school/district. District Test Coordinators should also check PAN regularly for work requests that are awaiting approval.

Requests for testing in small groups, human reader / Text-to-Speech, or extended time do not need to be submitted to ADE for review. However, these accommodations should be documented in the student's IEP or 504 Plan, and the ACT Aspire Personal Needs Profile should be utilized, as described in the ACT Aspire Accessibility Supports Guide.
ACT Aspire Training
Two training modules are available on-demand on the ACT Aspire page of the ACT-hosted website.
Two "Chat with an Expert" sessions have also been scheduled for ACT Aspire. Both sessions will be recorded and will be available on-demand following the live events.

If students need to be added in PearsonAccessNext (PAN) for ACT, an ACT support request must be submitted using ACT's Enroll or Unenroll Students form. More information about submitting a support request is available on the ACT website under Step 2: Configuration and in this ACT tutorial.
