National History Day Was a Huge Success!  
Each year our 8th grade students tirelessly work on projects to compete in National History Day.  SHMS hosts 30-40 judges that generously donate their time to participate in this all day event.  They are supported with breakfast, a catered lunch and snacks throughout the day from YOUR generous donations!

Parent Teacher Conferences Meal and Snacks - February 13th, 16th and 21st
Parent Teacher Conferences are just around the corner and we need your help to make it wonderful for our teachers during those LONG days. Your PTO is providing a catered dinner (Qdoba) for the in-person conference day (Feb. 13th) but are asking your help providing desserts, drinks and snacks for the other days.  Please click the link below to donate goodies to our teachers!

If you haven't heard we at SHMS really like to appreciate our Teachers for the STELLAR work they do!  SHMS will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week May 1st-5th.

Festivus 2023 Planning Meeting - February 17th 2pm at SHMS
We are starting to plan for our 3rd annual Festivus event (Tentatively September 2023.)  We would love your ideas on how to make this community wide event even better. We are having our first meeting on February 17th at 2pm at SHMS (check in at the front office and they will direct you.)  If you cannot make the meeting but want to participate please click the link below to get on the email list.

8th Grade Continuation & End of Year Celebration- May 25th
Every year SHMS says good-bye to our 8th Graders and their parents during our 8th Grade Continuation ceremony beginning at 9am.  We also provide a pizza lunch for all students to celebrate the last day of school.  The PTO would love to request your help (6th and 7th grade parents) with making this day special for all.  Please click the link below to sign up to volunteer or donate for this amazing event!     
PTO Notice of Elections 
Each year the SHMS PTO holds elections for the Board positions that are open or will be vacated this year.  This year we will hold elections in March for the positions of President, Vice-President and Secretary.  We encourage you to consider joining our Board and help lead the PTO for years to come.  Email questions or interest to: pto.shms.president@gmail.com
