Radical Missions is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-government organization (NGO) funded by private contributions. We work solely in the country of Guatemala in Central America. We are not affiliated with any corporation, single church, or other organization. Donations made too Radical are tax deductible.
Unlike other charities, we do not employ executives or have any other payroll or administrative expenses. Our organization is run by volunteers and missionaries, meaning all donations go to help real Guatemalans in Guatemala. Because we are a 501(c)3 organization registered with the IRS, donations made to Radical Missions are tax deductible. Email us to learn more about ways you can help make a real difference here, and also reduce the amount of money you need to pay the IRS for the 2022 tax year. 4 hands are better than 2
Radical Missions specializes in providing clean water, distributing food, and offering free healthcare. But how is a small ministry like ours able to achieve so much? The answer is simple: We have help!
Our clean water project is made possible through the support of individuals like you and EcoFilter https://ecofiltro.com.gt/en, a Guatemalan company that produces water filters locally. The Ecofiltro can purify water from almost any source, including wells, faucets, rivers, lakes, ponds, and rainwater, with very few exceptions, such as saltwater from the sea. If the water has too much soil in it, we recommend filtering it through a clean cloth first to prevent small stones and solid materials from clogging the pores of the filter. This provides families with access to free, clean water right in their own homes. Supporters like you help kickstart the process by sponsoring one EcoFilter for life for $50. Radical Missions is responsible for connecting communities with EcoFilter and raising funds to pay for the filters. We are partnering with the Hendersonville TN Rotary Club to install 250 EcoFilters in every home in Chuatzunuj, and we won't stop there!
The food distribution program was initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic. We met Ron and Rhonda Hedrick from Global Community Outreach (GCO) during the week the country shut down. The two most essential things that people needed during the lockdown were food and healthcare. GCO brings in a container each month containing rice, beans, or other food items offered by Orphan Train. It costs GCO approximately $2,500 per container to cover all taxes and transport it from the port to the GCO warehouse. We are not only partners with GCO, but we also assist their ministry with all online logistics and building their website, https://gcomissions.org. Through GCO, we provide food to around 80,000 people each month, with the goal of feeding 100,000 people per month.
Clinica Colfax was built in 2009, but it took some time for our timing to align with God's. In 2019, the town of Chuatzunuj had experienced several deaths, including a few babies, due to bad water. It was a difficult start for the clinic, but God gave us the green light to begin. Initially, the health department used the triage and an exam room to treat patients for parasite treatment. Although we had some medical teams come to help, we felt that God wanted more from us. That's when we met Dr. Jesika Da Silva, and our collaboration began to better serve the community of Chuatzunuj and surrounding areas. Together, with protocols, state-of-the-art equipment, and the best medicines, Clinica Colfax is able to help people better than ever. Dr. Jesika Da Silva has her own ministry with her husband Mario, called Doctora hay no donde inc. We also helped DHND by building their website, https://dhnd.org. Together, we make a great team!
When different ministries work together towards a common goal, they can achieve more than they could individually. This is because of Synergy, Comprehensive Approach, Shared Resources, and Improved Communication. Overall, when ministries work together, they can maximize their resources, expertise, and impact, leading to better outcomes for the citizens they serve.
