Remote Monitoring Software - UPDATE
We have heard concerns from the field regarding LEA technology monitoring tools such as Lightspeed and LANSchool. ADE must balance the LEA's need to have this software enabled and Statewide Assessment test security. ADE has met with our vendor and can confirm that an LEA will not have to disable this type of software if they are using Chromebooks or iOS systems to administer Statewide Assessments in kiosk mode. Kiosk mode will ensure that the software will be blocked via TestNav.
If your LEA has this type of monitoring software and you are not administering online tests using Chromebooks or iOS, you must disable the software while online tests are being administered. LEAs have shared that this software allows test administrators to view test questions. This is not permitted. If the software is not disabled, this could result in test invalidations at the student, school, or district level.
The Test Administrator's role is to be actively monitoring the classroom while tests are being administered.
