Achievement Testing Mode Application
Open September 18 - October 13, 2023
No action needs to be taken if your school site(s)
will remain computer-based for Spring 2024

All Achievement testing is, by default, administered to students online in TestNav. The application to request paper test administration for school site(s) is open to District Test Coordinators in ADEConnect September 18 - October 13, 2023.

A separate submission is required for each school site and for each Achievement assessment (AASA, AzSCI, ACT Aspire, and/or ACT) for which paper testing is being requested. When submitting a request, you will need to enter a reason for the testing mode change to paper. ADE's Achievement assessment team will review each request individually and update the status in the ADEConnect application. District Test Coordinators can then check the application in ADEConnect for a status update.

To request paper test administration, log into ADEConnect and select Assessments. Click on the dropdown for Achievement Reports, and select Achievement Testing Mode to begin. Users must have the ADEConnect role of "Achievement District Test Coordinator" to submit a request for paper test administration.

AzSCI Paper Testing
For AzSCI to be administered as a paper test, every student response must be key-entered into the TestNav online testing platform after students have completed testing and before the end of the AzSCI test window. This must be completed by a Test Administrator who has been trained and who has signed a test security agreement.

AASA Paper Testing
All Grade 3 students will take the AASA ELA Oral Reading Fluency test online in TestNav, including students in paper-based testing schools. The Oral Reading Fluency test is no longer administered on a speaker telephone in paper-based testing schools.
