Achievement District Test Coordinator
Updates and Reminders - November 14, 2023
Reminders

Achievement District Test Coordinator (DTC) communications for the 2023-2024 school year are published on the Achievement DTC webpage, under the dropdown for "Achievement DTC Communications 2023-2024 School Year," for easy access.

When emailing the Achievement Assessments team, please include your district entity number and the name of the assessment you have a question about - AASA, AzSCI, ACT Aspire, and/or ACT. This assists us with researching your questions and helps us to identify the appropriate staff members to assist you.

Please send questions about AASA to AASA@azed.gov, questions about AzSCI to AzSCI@azed.gov, and questions about ACT Aspire or ACT to Testing@azed.gov. Please send your question to only one of these inboxes. Please do not copy all of the inboxes on your email.
Special Paper Version Test Requests
AASA, AzSCI, and ACT Aspire

We encourage you to submit requests for any required Special Paper Version (SPV) tests (braille, large print, and regular print) early to ADE for review and approval. Requests must be submitted using the secure online form: https://www.azed.gov/assessment/spv2024. The deadline for request submissions is February 23, 2024, but please do not wait to submit requests if you know now of students who will need SPV tests.
ACT Aspire Updates

Arizona students in the 9th grade cohort (Cohort 2027) will take the ACT Aspire assessment in Spring 2024. While ACT Aspire has been discontinued at a national level, Arizona will continue to administer the ACT Aspire Early High School (EHS) assessment to students in the 9th grade cohort for the life of our contract.

Support for ACT Aspire has now shifted from ACT to Pearson. The new PearsonAccess Next site (aspire.pearsonaccessnext.com) is now available with the Spring 2023 published reports. The Arizona ACT Aspire webpage will continue to be available with resources for testing through the Spring 2024 test administration, with Spring 2024 resources being added to the site as they become available.
ACT Webinars

The first ACT webinar for Arizona state testing was held on November 8th. The webinar recording and slides are now available on the ACT-hosted website under Step 4: Preparation. If you were unable to attend the live event, please view the webinar recording. All Test Coordinators should view either the live webinar or the recording for each ACT-hosted webinar. Two additional webinars have been scheduled, and registration links are included below.

Accommodations: November 15, 2023, 9:00am-10:00am (Registration Link)
Test Administration #2: February 21, 2024, 9:00am-10:00am (Registration Link)

ACT Test Window Selection

The following tasks must be completed in ACT's PearsonAccess Next (PAN) site no later than December 8, 2023: select test dates, select materials shipping dates, and verify shipping address. More information is available in Step 1: Orientation on the ACT-hosted website for Arizona.

The preferred test window selection must be indicated for each school. Schools are encouraged to administer ACT during the first test window and may also use the second test window, as needed, to complete any makeup testing. Any schools that choose to administer ACT during only the second test window will not have an additional ACT test window to use for makeup testing.

When selecting the preferred ACT test window in PAN, online or paper testing will also be selected. Schools will test online unless approval for paper testing was received in the ADEConnect Test Mode Selection Application, which was open September 18 - October 13, 2023. The information in the Test Mode Selection Application is the official testing mode for the school, and the selection in PAN must match the official testing mode.

ACT Accommodations

Initial requests for ACT accommodations and EL supports must be submitted to ACT in the Test Accessibility and Accommodations (TAA) system no later than February 2, 2024

In addition to the Accommodations webinar on Wednesday, November 15 (linked above), ACT is also hosting Accommodations Office Hours now through March 2024. Please visit the ACT Accommodations Office Hours registration page for dates, topics, and registration links.
