City awards grant funding to advance community safety and well-being |
February 26, 2025
The City of Edmonton is pleased to announce new recipients of grant funding through the Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) Strategy.
This one-time funding is awarded through two grant streams, Early Intervention/Intervention and Collaboration, and will support community organizations working to build a city where all residents feel safe, included, and can belong and thrive. This intake of recipients was selected from previously unfunded applications for the Early Intervention/Intervention and Collaboration grants.
Early Intervention/Intervention funding is meant to address and reduce pressing challenges related to the CSWB pillars of Crime Prevention & Crisis Intervention, Pathways In and Out of Poverty, Safe and Inclusive Spaces, and Well-being. Collaboration funding will go towards enhancing existing, or establishing new, collaborations or partnerships that work to achieve the goals of the CSWB Strategy.
“Community safety and well-being are amongst our top priorities. This grant is an important investment in initiatives that support Edmonton’s most vulnerable, strengthen neighbourhoods and foster a safer, more inclusive community for everyone,” said Mayor Amarjeet Sohi. “By working together with local organizations, we are building a city where all residents feel secure, supported and empowered.”
A total of $1,187,062 in grant funding has been awarded, with $474,380 coming from 2024 funds and $712,682 to be disbursed in 2025.
