The City of Edmonton is now accepting applications for the 2026-2028 Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) funding cycle. This provincial-municipal funding partnership supports preventive social services that enhance the well-being of individuals, families and communities by increasing social inclusion and equity.
Funding is available for community-based preventive programs and initiatives through two grant streams:
- Community Programs: Funding to support preventive programs and services that build resilient individuals, thriving families and welcoming and engaged communities. For the 2026-2028 intake, new applications are open for programs focused on Positive Mental Health, Poverty Reduction and Homelessness Prevention. Renewal requests will be accepted for programs currently funded under the Healthy Social Emotional Development and Healthy Relationships priorities.
- Strong Sector Initiatives: Funding for collaborative initiatives that build a strong sector that serves the needs of communities more effectively through integrated service coordination and/or research development, to support preventive social services outcomes through the FCSS program.
Organizations delivering community-based preventive programs can apply through the Community Investment Grant Portal by April 23 at 11:59 p.m. Applicants are required to create an account which allows them to submit, manage and track grant applications and reporting requirements with Community Investment.
To support organizations new to FCSS grants, information sessions will be held on April 3:
- Community Programs: 10 – 10:45 a.m.
- Strong Sector Initiatives: 11– 11:45 a.m.
Interested organizations are encouraged to sign up.
Funding through this program will be awarded for up to three years. Successful applicants will be notified by July 31.
