City Operations releases Annual Service Plans |
March 31, 2025
The City Operations department is responsible for a wide range of core services that keep Edmontonians moving, working and thriving. The department has released its 2024-2025 Annual Service Plans (ASPs) for each branch — Edmonton Transit Service, Fleet and Facility Services, Parks and Roads Services and Waste Services.
Each Plan reports on 2024 accomplishments and shares 2025 service objectives, key actions and how performance will be managed throughout the year. The ASPs demonstrate the department’s commitment to excellence in maintaining and operating City infrastructure, and provide insight on the important work teams will deliver in 2025, as the City of Edmonton continues to prepare for a city of two million.
Through the ASPs, residents can:
- Discover how the City of Edmonton keeps safe, clean and well maintained buildings, vehicles and parks, and delivers necessary waste collection, road maintenance and transit service.
- Learn more about efforts to support a Zero Waste Framework identified within the 25-year Waste Strategy.
- Find out how the City is expanding its bus fleet by adding 50,000 hours of bus service to make transit more reliable, convenient, accessible, inclusive and safe.
- Learn more about how the City maintains roads, trails, parks and open spaces.
- Get familiar with the City’s plans to revise the Urban Forest Management Plan and improve accessibility to sidewalks and active pathways.
The plans are used to communicate service priorities, as well as measure and evaluate the branches’ performance in those areas. By providing a clear explanation of how service levels connect with Council-approved budget allocations, ASPs also help establish and manage public expectations for the services they rely on.
