Dear Valued Customer,
Later this week, a surveyor will be working in your neighborhood on SW Murray Boulevard frontage road, between SW Butner Road and 965 SW Murray Boulevard, to collect important information for a future Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) project.
The surveyor will be looking for and marking monuments, which are permanent markers used to show important reference points like:
- Property boundaries
- Survey control points
- Section or quarter corners (used in land surveys)
These markers are usually made of metal rods, concrete posts, or brass caps set in the ground or pavement.
What to Expect During Surveying
The surveyor will use temporary spray paint, usually bright and easy to see, to mark the location and purpose of these monuments in the street or public right-of-way.
This work will not affect your property. There will be no digging, and surveyors won’t need to enter private property. You might see them using tripods and other measuring tools during regular working hours.
How to Prepare
No action is needed from you right now. This notification is for awareness.
Next Steps
After the monument surveying is complete this week, a second round of surveying will occur in the next month to take measurements of streets, sidewalks, and other public areas, identify utilities, and mark pavement within public rights-of-way and easements.
Once the project’s design is finished and construction is scheduled, we’ll reach out to share more details about what to expect and how to stay informed.
More about the Future Project
TVWD is in the early planning stages of a project to replace a water main and add a new water meter vault in your neighborhood on Murray Boulevard frontage road, between SW Butner Road and 965 SW Murray Boulevard. This will help keep your water pressure steady and reliable.
The project will include:
- Installing about 845 feet of new 8-inch pipe under SW Murray Boulevard frontage road,
- Adding 85 feet of new 6-inch service line and a new water meter vault for the West on Murray Condos (14095 SW Walker Rd),
- Replacing an existing 6-inch main to improve fire hydrant flow, and
- Retiring an old private water line that crosses SW Murray and belongs to the condos
The project is expected to begin construction in 2026.
