BRIEF WATER SERVICE
SHUT OFF NOTICE
Westlawn Water Main Replacement and Pressure Regulator Project: Connecting Your Home to the New Water Main
Greetings, Valued Customer,

Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) has finished installing the new water main under NW Westlawn Terrace, from 128th Avenue to 130th Avenue, and connected it to the active water system.

What’s Next: Connecting Homes to the New Main and Shut Off
Next, TVWD will disconnect your home’s water service line from the old main and connect it to the new main. (Water service lines bring water from the main to your home.)

What You Need to Know
30-Minute Water Service Shut Off
  • To make this connection, the water service to your home will be turned off for about 30 minutes on a weekday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. sometime over the next week.
  • TVWD will connect each home to the new water main individually, so we can’t give an exact day or time for when your service will be shut off.
  • TVWD will knock on your door before shutting off your water service.
  • During this shut off, you won’t have water for drinking, cooking, washing dishes, flushing toilets, or other water-related needs. We are sorry for the inconvenience and will work as quickly as possible.
What We Will Be Doing
To connect your home to the new main, TVWD crews will:
  • Turn off the old water main.
  • Dig near your water meter (usually near the street).
  • Disconnect your service line from the old main and connect it to the new one.
  • Test for leaks, water pressure, and flow.
  • Refill the excavation area once the work is complete.
What You Might Notice
  • Construction noise, dust, and vibrations
  • Restricted parking near water meters
  • Temporary lane closures
  • Impacts to bike and foot travel
  • Large equipment like excavators
  • A drone taking photos and videos of the progress
  • Continued access for mail, deliveries, and garbage pick-up
