NOTIFICATION
Temporarily One-Hour Water Service Shut Off to Your Home: During the Week of May 12, 2025

Dear Valued Customer,

During the week of May 12, 2025, the water service to your home will be temporarily shut off for one hour

This one-hour shutoff is part of Tualatin Valley Water District’s (TVWD) Oak Street Main Replacement Project. It will allow the contractor to disconnect your home’s water service line from the old water main and connect it to the recently installed new water main. (The service line brings water from the main to your home.)

During this hour of time, your home will not have access to water for drinking, cooking, bathing, washing dishes, flushing toilets, or other water-related needs. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Additional details are below.

Shut Off Details
  • Date: On a weekday during the week of May 12, 2025
  • Time: Between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Duration: For one hour or less
  • Worksite: Work will take place near your water service line (usually located in the street).
  • Affected Addresses: Addresses affected by the one-hour water service shut off are shown in yellow on the map below.
Notification
Each home will be connected to the new main one at a time, so we can’t give you an exact day or time. However, for notification, the contractor will knock on your door before your water service is temporarily shut off for one hour.

What the Contractor Will Be Doing
To connect your service line to the new main, the contractor will:
  • Remove the lid of your water meter box
  • Turn off water service to the home
  • Disconnect your existing water service line from your water meter
  • Connect the new water service line to your water meter
  • Resume water service to the home
What You May Notice
  • Construction noise, dust, and vibrations
  • Restricted parking near water meters
  • Temporary lane closures
  • Impacts to bike and foot travel
  • Large equipment like excavators
  • A drone taking photos and videos of the progress
  • You will still have access to mail, deliveries, and garbage pick-up
How to Prepare for the One-Hour Shut Off
  • Before: Fill containers with clean water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation.
  • During: Keep all water faucets turned off.
  • After: To check if water is back, turn on a faucet. If no water flows, wait 15 minutes and try again. When service resumes, run cold water for two minutes to flush your plumbing.

The project includes five phases:

  • Phase 1: Installed and tested the new main.
