NER News and Events
We want to stay in touch!
Please be sure to check your congregation's staff and leadership information listed on my.uua.org and login to make any necessary changes. We rely on these listings to communication about important announcements, offerings, and more via email. NER appreciates your time and attention to this important matter.
White lettering on a green background reads 'NER Congregational and Community OWL Offerings' to the left with an image of a great horned owl in a pine tree to the right.
Does your congregation or community center offer OWL? Want to? Are you seeking another congregation to collaborate with, or do you have members curious where they can bring their children to participate in the program?

Please fill out this form to share your congregation's information with the New England Region. This information is shared to help congregations that are offering OWL and those seeking OWL find one another to work collaboratively. All information is self-reported by the congregation and we rely on congregations to send us updates of their information as necessary. Submitted information will be available via our website.

Thank you to all our congregations that participated this past church year. Even if your offerings will be the same for the next church cycle, please re-submit the listing.

From the Commission on Social Witness (CSW)
CSW has posted the feedback session recordings for the three proposed 2025 Congregation Study Action Issues (CSAI). One of these will be selected during General Assembly by UU member congregations for three years of study, reflection, and action. The recordings, as well as the CSAI texts and more information about the process, can be found on the UUA website.

Additionally, you can offer feedback on the 2025 Proposed Actions of Immediate Witness. An Action of Immediate Witness (AIW) is a statement about a significant action, event, or development in the world that necessitates immediate engagement and action among UU member congregations and groups. This year, the Commission on Social Witness received five proposed AIWs and will be holding feedback sessions for each one during the first week of June. Learn more about the process, the proposed AIWs, and register for the feedback sessions on the UUA website.
Youth and Emerging Adult Opportunities
Lifespan Faith Engagement at GA
Check out this video to learn about the many ways youth (ages 14–18) and emerging adults (ages 18–24) are supported and celebrated at General Assembly. Shannon Harper from the UUA’s Lifespan Faith Engagement Office outlines dedicated gathering spaces, pastoral care, and engaging connection points both in-person and online. Highlights include WAVE cohorts focused on youth and emerging adult experiences and the deep need for Whole Church religious education, Deeper Joy pop-ups with inclusive games and activities, and the Whole Church Engagement Area for all ages to rest and play in the General Session Hall. Everyone at GA is invited to help center young people in our faith and nurture a thriving multigenerational community!
Thrive Meet Up:
BIPOC Youth and Emerging Adults at GA
General Assembly (GA) is just around the corner! Two BIPOC adults from DRUUMM and the UUA will give a brief overview of programs, events, and supports available to BIPOC youth and emerging adults at GA on Thursday, June 5 at 8:00pm ET via Zoom. There will be time to ask questions, make connections, and get excited for GA. Join us in BIPOC UU community to lean on each other and connect.

Registration is free and required. Parent/guardian permission required via the registration form for attendees under age 18.

Note that this is a closed space for UUs between ages 14 and 24 who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color. If you are unsure whether this is a space for you, email Nico Van Ostrand for a chat.
