The City of Edmonton and Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 569 have officially reached a new collective agreement.
Today, City Council voted to accept the tentative agreement that was ratified by ATU 569 members on June 23, 2025, finalizing the bargaining process.
“This agreement represents the collaborative efforts of bargaining teams and provides stability and certainty for the City and its over 2500 transit workers - including bus drivers, maintenance personnel and other transit employees. The City of Edmonton extends its gratitude to all transit employees for the work they do to transport Edmontonians safely and efficiently,” said City Manager Eddie Robar.
“We are pleased to finally have a ratified collective agreement. Though not all of our objectives were achieved, this outcome sets us on a path to continue working towards achieving those pending objectives in future rounds of bargaining,” said ATU 569 President Steve Bradshaw.
The four-year agreement, commencing on December 31, 2023, and ending on December 11, 2027, provides a three per cent wage increase each year of the term.
Additional highlights of the agreement include increased shift differential pay, increased footwear allowances, and increased and enhancements to health benefits.
The City is actively working to implement the agreement.
