Two minutes. That’s the time it takes to double check your voter information.
Edmonton Elections will use a permanent electors register for the 2025 Edmonton Election. New provincial legislation requires Edmonton Elections to maintain an ongoing list of eligible voters.
Edmonton Elections is compiling the voter list using the provincial Voterlink system, which already includes approximately 700,000 Edmontonians. However, the list may not reflect Edmontonians who recently moved or became eligible for the first time, or it may include other outdated information.
“You’re probably already on the list, but you can double check in a couple of minutes on your mobile device, even while waiting in line at the grocery store,” said Aileen Giesbrecht, Returning Officer for Edmonton Elections. “You can still register when you go to vote, but checking your information now helps ensure a smooth process in October.”
Edmonton Elections held a demonstration of how to check your registration on Thursday morning at the Stanley Milner Library. New registrations require a driver’s licence or provincial ID card.
To ensure they’re on the finalized Election Day register, Edmontonians should verify their information by August 15. More information on how to register is available at edmonton.ca/elections.
Eligible voters who miss the advance registration deadline can register in person on Election Day or at any other voting opportunity.
