Protecting Workers’ Wages George Cole was sentenced for stealing “hard-earned wages from workers who put hours of dedicated labor into construction projects, using the stolen money to purchase lavish personal items. Every worker in Manhattan deserves to receive each dollar they make, and my office will continue to create accountability for those who jeopardize that,” said D.A. Bragg.
Along with the NYC Department of Investigation, we announced the guilty plea of Anthony Martucci for stealing $36.8k in wages from workers at a city-funded construction site. “With this resolution, hardworking New Yorkers will be paid what they rightfully earned, and the unscrupulous owner of a construction company will not be able to bid on City contracts for three years,” said D.A. Bragg.

Celebrating Pride Month D.A. Bragg joined the 16th Annual Harlem Pride Festival as we celebrated our LGBTQIA+ community and emphasized our efforts to deliver safety and fairness for all.
We joined St. Luke in the Fields at their Art and Acceptance event, which provides weekly evening meals to young LGBTQ+ New Yorkers, to provide information about our work and available resources.

Cracking Down on Fraud Michael Collins was indicted for allegedly embezzling nearly $6 million from two companies where he worked as a marketing executive. “He then allegedly used the stolen money to fund his lavish lifestyle, spending it on executive club memberships, luxury brands, fine dining, and extensive travel,” said D.A. Bragg.
We announced the guilty plea of Yaorong Wan for stealing approximately $260,000 worth of diamond rings from Tiffany & Co. and Cartier. “New York is a global fashion capital, and we will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to keep mom-and-pop shops and high-end retailers alike safe,” said D.A. Bragg.
Five individuals were indicted for two alleged, overlapping financial fraud conspiracies: forging and depositing checks stolen from the mail and robbing victims of their cellphones to gain access to their financial accounts. “Protecting the financial security of Manhattanites is a key component of public safety, and this Office will continue to prioritize uncovering and dismantling these pernicious schemes,” said D.A. Bragg.

Prosecuting Violent Crime We announced the indictment of Raquan El for allegedly hitting a 35-year-old pregnant woman with a pipe in Chelsea. “We will not tolerate New Yorkers being assaulted. I wish the victim a speedy recovery,” said D.A. Bragg.
We announced the extradition of Francisco Caminero from the Dominican Republic where he fled during the pendency of his prosecutions for allegedly assaulting and raping his then-girlfriend, as well as possessing cocaine with the intent to sell. “We will never stop pursuing justice for survivors of crime and thank our law enforcement partners for helping ensure Caminero’s return to New York,” said D.A. Bragg.

Connecting With Our Community D.A. Bragg joined Deputy Manhattan Borough President Keisha Sutton-James and Director of NY/NJ HIDTA Chauncey Parker for a walkthrough of Brigadier General Charles Young Park and discussion about maintenance, community engagement, and how we can ensure our Harlem community can safely enjoy the park.
