The Edmonton Heritage Festival runs August 2 – 4 at the Exhibition Lands and Borden Park. Enjoy the tastes, smells, sights and sounds from over 65 countries and cultures, with free entertainment on more than 20 stages throughout the festival site.
Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) Park & Ride
ETS is increasing Capital Line LRT service starting August 2 through August 4. An accessible ETS shuttle will run between Coliseum Transit Centre and the Heritage Festival Park & Ride site.
Riders can use Park & Ride lots at Clareview, Belvedere and Stadium Transit Centres and take the Capital Line LRT to Coliseum Station.
Please note: The Stadium Park and Ride Lot will be closed from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on August 2 due to an Edmonton Elks Football game.
Route 700X will run a 10-minute service between Heritage Valley and Century Park transit centres to help riders in south Edmonton connect to the Capital Line LRT. Festival goers can also park at the Davies Park & Ride location and take Valley Line Southeast to Churchill Station, to transfer to the Capital Line LRT.
For regular bus service, bus Routes 8 and 53 run to the nearby Coliseum Transit Centre. There will be extra Route 8 buses between Abbottsfield Transit Centre and NAIT between noon and 7 p.m., and Route 53 will have extended service during the festival.
Festival goers can park at NAIT lots A/B & D and ride Route 8 to the festival. Parking at NAIT is $6 and regular ETS fares apply.
ETS will continue to provide Park & Ride service between the Heritage Festival site and the following locations:
- Eaux Claires Transit Centre: 157 Avenue & 97 Street
- Lewis Farms Transit Centre: Webber Greens Drive & Suder Greens Drive
- Arrive early as this location has limited parking spots due to Valley Line West LRT construction
- Nakî Transit Centre (St. Albert): 15520 Campbell Road
ETS will run a shuttle from Churchill Station (100 Street and 102 Avenue southbound) to the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
Park & Ride buses run approximately every 10 minutes between:
- 11:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. on August 2
- 9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. on August 3
- 9:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. on August 4
Transit Fares
Regular fares apply. To ensure a smooth and safe transit journey for everyone, ETS recommends purchasing your fare product before you start your trip. Fare types include Arc three-day or five-day passes, single use Arc tickets, or cash fare when boarding a bus, depending on your needs.
For riders who regularly take transit to events, we recommend purchasing an Arc card. Riders can access the best fare rate through the Arc card ($3 a trip versus $3.75 cash fare or Arc ticket). Once an Arc card has been purchased and loaded with funds, it can be tapped on/off the bus or train when travelling to and from the festival. Riders can keep their purchased Arc card for future use.
For non-regular transit riders or for people who live outside of the Edmonton region, ETS recommends an Arc three-day or five-day pass, which is valid for three or five consecutive days, respectively, after the first tap. The Arc multi-pass is a great option for festival goers who are attending the Heritage Festival for more than one day.
Arc single-use tickets and three-day or five-day multi-passes can also be purchased with cash or credit and debit through Arc vending machines at transit centres and LRT stations and at various sales outlets.
Children 12 years of age and under ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying rider.
For festival goers coming from Sherwood Park, Strathcona County has shuttle service to the event.
Tips for Festival Goers
Parking
Paid parking is available at the Edmonton EXPO Centre lot via the entrance at Wayne Gretzky Drive and 116 Avenue. Standard cost per vehicle is $20/entry (payable by credit/debit only) with no in-out privileges. Parking payment machines are located inside the EXPO Centre. Mobile payments can be made using Honk Mobile (Zone ‘EXPO’) by scanning the QR codes located throughout the parking lot and inside the venue.
Festival attendees are required to adhere to any parking restrictions and signage in nearby neighborhood streets. Only residents with valid permits are permitted to park beyond any time restrictions in place. Vehicles not following the restrictions in place may be tagged.
Passenger / Taxi Drop-off
A passenger drop-off location is located in the EXPO Centre parking lot. Parking is not allowed in the drop-off zone for longer than it takes to unload.
Both CO-OP Taxi and Dedicated Accessible Transit Services (DATS) will be using this drop-off location.
Bike Parking
Edmontonians can also bike to the Edmonton Heritage Festival. Free bike racks will be located outside the festival site as no bikes are allowed within the site.
Shared E-scooters and E-bikes
Edmontonians can also use a shared e-scooter or e-bike with one of the City-approved vendors - Bird Canada, Lime or Neuron. Users are encouraged to ride and park carefully and be considerate of other road users.

Pets and animals are not permitted at the Heritage Festival site, with the exception of service animals. Pet owners are encouraged to leave their animals at home while attending the Edmonton Heritage Festival.
