Action and adventure come to Movies on the Square

Mark your calendars — Movies on the Square is back in Sir Winston Churchill Square on Monday, August 18. Soak in the summer afternoon and evening while watching family-friendly movies on a large screen. This awesome outdoor movie experience will include free activities between each movie and a variety of food trucks on-site from noon - 8 p.m.

Admission is free, but don’t forget to bring your own lawn chair. Closed captioning will be offered.

August 18 Movie Schedule
1 - 3 p.m. - Sonic the Hedgehog
3:30 - 5:30 p.m. - Sonic the Hedgehog 2
6 - 8 p.m. - Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Pre-movie Entertainment
The fun starts before the movies!
  • The event will kick off with a special performance by Robyn Ashley and the Square will be buzzing with a variety of activities for all ages. 
  • Be amazed by the incredible balloon creations of local artist Demmi Dupri
  • The Edmonton Public Library will offer engaging activities to spark imagination.
This is a family-friendly event, so no alcohol or smoking please.

Getting There
City Hall and Sir Winston Churchill Square are easily reached by multiple bus routes, and Capital, Metro and Valley Line Southeast LRT all have stops at Churchill Square.

Parking
Parking is available at Canada Place, City Hall and Stanley A. Milner Library Parkades. Parkades have elevator access for accessibility.
