Police commission member recruitment underway
August 22, 2025

Edmonton City Council is recruiting for the Edmonton Police Commission. Preferred candidates will demonstrate financial, legal, information technology or human resources experience as well as an understanding of public accountability and board operations.

The Commission is a non-political governance body which provides civilian oversight of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS). It is a diverse and independent police board composed of highly qualified professionals who bring a wealth of education, lived experiences and unique perspectives to police governance and oversight. Being a member of the Commission provides the opportunity to sharpen governance skills and gain a broader understanding of municipal policing and government processes.

Those interested in supporting the vision of the Commission to create a safe and vibrant city are encouraged to apply online. To apply the candidate will need to provide a cover letter summarizing the value and contribution that they will provide to the Commission and their interest in serving in the role, as well as a resumé and two letters of reference. The deadline to apply is September 21, 2025.
