The last day people can enjoy Borden, Fred Broadstock, Mill Creek and Wîhkwêntôwin Outdoor Pool is September 1. These pools close for the season on September 2, while Queen Elizabeth remains open with a combination of public swim, lane swim and rentals until September 14. Queen Elizabeth may be open beyond September 14 for rentals only, weather permitting.
After September 1, timed entries will no longer be available and drop-in admission is available on a first come, first served basis for Queen Elizabeth outdoor pool. After September 14, aquatics staff start shutdown procedures, including inspections and preparing the pools for winter. All five City outdoor pools were open for the 2025 summer season.
“We are glad Edmonton’s outdoor pools have become a place to gather and cool off during the hot summer months. Our facilities are community hubs where people can socialize with friends and family or simply relax for the day,” said Shauna Graham, Site Coordination and Operations Supervisor. “As the season draws to a close, our aquatics staff will be hard at work, ensuring our outdoor pools are safe and fun for Edmontonians next summer.”
This 2025 Outdoor Pools season, as of August 25, welcomed 78,707 people:
- 4,512 - Borden Natural Swimming Pool (opened in late July due to renovations)
- 22,659 - Fred Broadstock
- 16,135 - Mill Creek
- 24,532 - Queen Elizabeth
- 10,869 - Wîhkwêntôwin (formerly Oliver)
