Blogpost Edition
Horizontal Rule made up of colorful blocks
Hello Pacific Western Region,

It is my great pleasure to share the launch of our very first blog post!

Starting this week, we will be publishing a new blog post every Thursday. These weekly posts are intended to foster ongoing connection and share timely resources, stories, and regional updates that may not make it into our monthly newsletter, which is sent out at the beginning of each month.

We hope this new offering serves you well, and we’re excited to share this space with you each week.

At the bottom, please view our first blogpost from Mylo Way, PWR Youth and Emerging Adult Ministry Liason.

With care,

On behalf of the Pacific Western Region Staff,

Hara Madera - PWR Regional Administrator

Deeper Joy
We are thrilled to share with you, remind you of, or introduce you to the collection of resources and ever-evolving hub known as Deeper Joy.

At its core, Deeper Joy is a resource hub compiled by the Lifespan Faith Engagement team at the UUA. When you’re there, you’ll find a map of faith formation with a Bonding Harbor, Stretching River, and Healing Springs. The map is a tool to explore and engage how we are together as a faith community. And, at each stop, you will find a collection of games and activities that your small group ministry or Board Retreat or coffee hour gathering or youth group (or endless collection of folks) can use to support deeper and different approaches to connection and exploration of ideas.

Because it’s a part of faith formation, it’s always changing and growing. A role-playing game built on the Deeper Joy map is in final playtest mode right now to be launched later this year. The map has been used as a backdrop for conflict resolutions and deeper understanding. This comes from the world of youth ministry and is meant for all. As part of the Whole Church approach, and understanding that different modalities and different approaches engage all folks in different ways.

Dig in, explore, try a game or two at your next committee meeting.

Have a game you’d like to suggest? Questions or thoughts about the resource? Send them our way! youth@uua.org
