The City of Edmonton and Edmonton Police Service Senior Officers’ Association (EPSSOA) have officially reached a new collective agreement.
Today, City Council voted to accept the tentative agreement, which was ratified by EPSSOA members on September 12, 2025, finalizing the bargaining process.
“This agreement acknowledges the important work EPSSOA’s members, which include Edmonton Police Service (EPS) members in the superintendent and inspector ranks, do to keep the city safe,” said City Manager Eddie Robar. “The City of Edmonton extends its gratitude to EPSSOA members and the bargaining teams for reaching this agreement, which provides a stable and predictable future for the City and association members.”
“We’re pleased to say that we were able to negotiate a fair and equitable agreement that recognizes the dedication and hard work our senior officers provide Edmontonians on a daily basis,” said EPSSOA President Lance Parker. “We appreciate the stability this new agreement provides our members, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with the City ahead of future bargaining efforts.”
The four-year agreement, commencing on December 31, 2023, and ending on December 11, 2027, provides the following wage increases:
- 2024: 3.50 per cent increase
- 2025: 3.75 per cent increase
- 2026: 3.30 per cent increase
- 2027: 3.75 per cent increase
Additional highlights of the agreement include an increased health care spending account, which results in a re-balanced clothing allowance, increased maternity top-up benefits and other monetary and non-monetary items.
The City is actively working with the EPS to implement the agreement.
