Anchored in Administration: Access, Assistance, and Abundant Connection in the PWR
Hello Pacific Western Region,

Before diving into this resource blog post, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Hara Madera, and I am your PWR Regional Administrator. Some of you may have already interacted with me—whether through email or during a Zoom session at this year’s PWR Business Meeting. Either way, I’m sending you all a warm virtual hello!

I began my journey with the UUA in June 2024, and so far, it has been a wonderful experience filled with learning, growth, and new skills I’m proud to carry forward.

As an administrator—and in many ways, starting from scratch—I’m still learning and shaping my role, which continues to evolve. My goal is to build a strong foundation for those who will come after me. One thing I know for sure: I’m here to support the entire PWR Team and, most importantly, all of you.

Here are just a few ways I can support you:
  • Connecting you with your congregation's primary contact or other PWR staff
  • Publishing marketing materials in our regional newsletter
  • Linking you with the PWR Chalice Lighters Board Member
  • Providing information on the PWR Board and the Disaster Relief Fund

In addition to being a point of contact and resource, I’d like to highlight a few specific tools and opportunities available to you:
  1. PWR Chalice Lighters - The program is LIVE and accepting applications! Please spread the word and share the website link with your networks, click here.
  2. PWR Partnership Request Form - Have questions or need support? Complete this form for any inquiries, click here.
  3. Disaster Relief Fund - Available for congregations impacted by disasters and in need of support, click here

Also, an event I would like to highlight which can be a great way to connect with others from the region is the 1st PWR UU Virtual Mixer - Building Connections Across the Miles. The event is focused on connection, storytelling, and community-building. This informal, facilitated gathering includes small group conversations, games, and a chance to meet fellow UUs—just bring your favorite snack, wear something cozy, and come as you are! Click here to register for the event, registration will close Monday, October 6th at 6pm PT

I hope you’ll take advantage of these resources—and remember, I’m here to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at hmadera@uua.org or pwr@uua.org

With the ever-changing nature of our world, I send you and your loved ones many blessings, healing, and protection.

Warmly,

Hara Madera,  PWR Regional Administrator
