Milwaukee County Parks invites the public to celebrate completion of the Little Menomonee River Parkway Roadway-to-Trail Conversion Project
WHAT: Milwaukee County Parks will host a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the Little Menomonee River Parkway Roadway-to-Trail Conversion Project, which transforms a one-mile segment of the Parkway, from W Leon Terrace to West Appleton Avenue, into a dedicated, off-street walking and biking trail.
Following the ceremony, community members are invited to “Run, Walk & Roll the Parkway,” an inclusive opportunity to be among some of the first to experience the new trail by walking, running, biking, or rolling down and back along the freshly completed route.
This project enhances safety, reduces maintenance costs such as those that come from illegal dumping by limiting vehicle access, and encourages active, healthy lifestyles, advancing Milwaukee County’s vision to become the healthiest county in Wisconsin by achieving racial equity.
