95 Avenue reopening for winter
November 12, 2025

The City of Edmonton has reopened 95 Avenue to four lanes of traffic for the winter season.

Construction on the 95 Avenue Renewal Project has made significant progress this year:
  • 182 Street to 170 Street (Phase 1) is substantially complete, with only minor finishing work remaining. This section is now reopened to traffic. Completed work includes the construction of a new shared pathway along the south side of 95 Avenue between 182 and 170 Street, and road resurfacing from 178 to 170 Street.
  • 163 Street to 170 Street (Phase 2) is complete for the 2025 construction season and has reopened to traffic. Completed work includes road reconstruction from 163 to 170 Street, the replacement of sidewalks and curbs, bus stop improvements and new street lighting. New sustainable stormwater drainage infrastructure has also been constructed behind the sidewalk from 167 to 165 Street. Construction on the westbound lanes on the north side of 95 Avenue is now complete, with some minor work and repairs remaining.
Construction will resume in spring 2026 to complete the remaining work on Phase 2, which begins on the south side of 95 Avenue between 163 and 170 Street.

The City thanks residents, commuters, and surrounding schools and businesses for their patience throughout the project. Reopening the road for winter will help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently until work resumes next year.
