November 2025

Hello, readers! November was a month of breakthroughs and innovation at Unity Health. We achieved a world first with a remotely delivered, robotic-assisted neurovascular diagnostic procedure. A surgical team at St. Michael’s Hospital has performed a groundbreaking robotic-assisted neurovascular diagnostic procedure remotely over a network connection—with the patient at St. Michael’s downtown and the surgeon located at St. Joseph’s Health Centre,  six kilometres away.  The aim is eventually for surgeons in acute care hospitals and regional stroke centres to be able to operate remotely on patients in rural communities and smaller health centres
