As we wrap up a busy fall and head towards year-end, the Land & Real Estate team is excited to share a few highlights and updates from the last few months - as well as offer a sneak peek at upcoming land opportunities for our local development community. 
City Lot Inventory Update
One of the most significant accomplishments this year - let alone this Fall - was selling out all of our single-family and duplex lots. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this possible. These lots - purchased by both builders and individual buyers - not only boosted the local economy but also facilitated a diversity of new housing opportunities.
How did we sell our entire inventory? 
The year started off with strong interest in single-family and duplex lots which continued throughout the year, demonstrating high levels of confidence from both local homeowners and the development community. Each sale represented someone taking a step toward making a dream home a reality, and we're excited to facilitate more of that next year.  
Coming in 2026...
In early 2026, we'll be introducing 10 new lots - collectively known as "The Spur" - as an addition to the Ranchlands. While details are still limited, we promise this will be a noteworthy opportunity for our local builders and developers as we release more information ahead of the 2026 construction season. 

If you're planning on building on a single-family lot next year, this is a development you'll want to follow closely next year. You'll be amongst the earliest to know by keeping an eye on our socials and this very newsletter! 
Conferences & Connections
This fall, our team engaged in several networking and industry specific events and conferences including:
• ICSC in Toronto
• The Calgary Real Estate Forum
• The National Franchise Show


These events - and others like them throughout the year - gave us valuable opportunities to connect with industry leaders outside of Medicine Hat, explore emerging trends, and continue strengthening relationships that support growth and innovation in our city.
Bites & Building Conversations

Likewise, we also continue to hold productive meetings with local builders, gaining valuable insights into their needs, priorities, and experiences. Our 1st Annual Bites & Building Conversations was a great success and further helped strengthen our relationships with our local developers and construction firms. we look forward to continuing these meaningful conversations with our builders, land developers, and other important partners.
What's Next

The Land & Real Estate team is staying busy and focused as we plan next steps - not just for future single-family lots, but also for other strategic sites across the city. This includes exploring infill opportunities that will bring new life and variety to established neighbourhoods such as the Dunmore Road apartment complex. Expect more higher density, multi-family residential developments as we look to support the diversification of Medicine Hat's real estate mix.
