The holiday season can be challenging for many families, forcing some to make difficult decisions to ensure they have enough food for themselves and their pets. To help meet this need, the City of Edmonton is happy to announce that the Animal Care and Control team is once again holding its annual PAWS for a CAUSE Pet Food Drive in support of the Edmonton Food Bank.
What began as a grassroots initiative in 2023 has quickly grown into a vital program supporting pets and families in need. Thanks to the generosity of Edmontonians, last year’s drive collected over 8,000 kilograms of pet food and supplies, surpassing expectations and helping to feed pets across the community.

Donations of new, unopened pet food and supplies are being accepted at participating pet food suppliers across Edmonton from December 1 to 14. Every contribution helps make a meaningful difference for pets and their families.
In-person events

Pets are cherished members of many families, but rising costs have made it harder for some households to provide for them. The PAWS for a CAUSE Pet Food Drive helps ease this burden by providing essential supplies to help Edmontonians feed their pets this holiday season.
We welcome donations of wet cat food, dry pet food, cat litter, treats, leashes and collars.
Please note: All donated items must be new and unopened. Expired or used products cannot be accepted.
