Newcastle GP Services want to learn more about health conditions that affect Black people. Like diabetes, kidney disease and
cardiovascular disease. If you're from a Black community, you can help by taking part in research studies. |

Cumberland: Improving access for d/Deaf people |
The Lived Experience Network had meetings with:
- the d/Deaf community and
- organisations which support d/Deaf people.
They have written a report about using services. There are recommendations for health and care services and the council.

Northumberland: by parent carers for parent carers |
The Explore the Rainbow Guide. The Parent Carer Forum worked with families and services to make it. It aims to make SEND support easier for families. Please share the guide with anyone who might find it helpful.

Locked out: the experience of British Sign Language users in health and care |
A national report praised North East and North Cumbria’s work that highlighted
Deaf people’s exclusion from health and care. British Sign Language (BSL) users
face major barriers, from booking appointments to understanding treatments. The BSL Health Navigator programme, delivered by Deaflink, improved access by removing obstacles and providing essential support, ensuring Deaf people
receive equitable healthcare. |

Volunteers needed: heart research |
There's a new research project about heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). They want to improve how we detect and treat them. They want to use artificial intelligence (AI) to predict what works best for patients.
They are looking for adults with experience of heart rhythm conditions. There will be an online workshop to discuss ideas with patients. If you take part you will get a £25 shopping voucher as a thank you.
