December 22, 2025 – February 2026 |
Dear Valued Customers and Community Members,
From December 22, 2025, through February 2026, a contractor working for Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) will install three new 12-inch underground water mains, a 12-inch stormwater line, and an 8-inch sanitary sewer connection in the following locations:
- The 6500 block of SW Florence Lane, under the south side of the roadway, between homes at 6531 and 6536 SW Florence Lane
- The public right-of-way down the hill, northwest of TVWD’s Taylors Ferry property
Key Impacts for Awareness
- Traffic Slowing: This work will cause temporary traffic slowing on Florence Lane, especially in the curve near the work area. The contractor will work to reduce impacts to nearby residents and travelers.
- Water Service Interruptions: There may be short interruptions in your water service if you live on Florence Lane near the work area. However, any of these planned interruptions will be communicated to you 48-hours in advance and will include an estimate of the outage time, including any details applicable to your individual service.
Please see the map below showing the work area highlighted in red.

What to Expect
During Construction:
- Florence Lane will remain open to traffic.
- When crews are working in or near the roadway, flaggers will direct traffic.
- Expect short delays near the work area. Using an alternate route may help.
- Driveway access to nearby homes may be briefly delayed; crews will coordinate with residents as needed.
- Expect noise, dust, and vibration.
- Mail, garbage, and deliveries may experience brief interruptions.
- Large construction equipment will be present.
At the End of Each Workday:
- Crews will cover open work areas on Florence Lane with metal plates so normal traffic can resume overnight.
After Installation:
- Temporary asphalt patches will be placed only where the water mains were installed.
- If you notice damage or wear to these patches, please contact TVWD for review and possible repair.
Final Paving:
- In 2026, a paving contractor will remove the temporary patches and complete permanent paving only in the affected areas.
- The entire street will not be fully repaved.
- Advance notice will be provided before paving, if possible.
- Water service will not be interrupted during paving.
