January 19, 2026
The City of Edmonton invites residents’ input into projects, policies and initiatives that grow communities, establish government services and prepare the city for the future. Below are current opportunities for Edmontonians to shape the city.
Supporting healthier and more inclusive communities:
- Shaping Edmonton's Climate Future. The City is updating its Climate Action Plan (2027-2030) to ensure existing strategies remain effective and adapt to changing local priorities. The new actions will build off the momentum the City has made so far in responding to a changing climate. Your voice is crucial in shaping a resilient and sustainable future for Edmonton. To learn more about how you can participate in public engagement opportunities until January 30 visit engaged.edmonton.ca/climateactionplan. You may also provide input through our Climate Action Survey.
- Child Care Services Survey. The City invites feedback on proposed changes to Zoning Bylaw regulations for child care services until February 4. Your feedback will help advise on potential changes to the Zoning Bylaw. A summary of survey results will be shared with City Council prior to making a decision on the proposed changes in the second quarter of 2026. Visit edmonton.ca/surveys until February 4 to provide feedback.
- Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Waste Roadmap. The City invites representatives involved in food and organics and construction and demolition to provide feedback until February 6 on proposed actions that include a bylaw, grants, educational toolkits and more to help reduce waste in these areas. To learn more about the project, provide feedback or stay informed, visit engaged.edmonton.ca/ICI-Waste-Roadmap.
- Snow Storage Site User Survey. The City is undertaking a project to enhance the security and manageability of its snow storage facilities. Businesses using the City’s snow storage sites are invited to provide feedback on site operations, accessibility and usage. Visit edmonton.ca/transportation/on_your_streets/snow-storage-facilities by February 15 to complete the online survey.
Changing neighbourhoods to meet changing needs:
- Wîhkwêntôwin Neighbourhood Renewal. Community members are invited to review and provide feedback on the draft design for Wîhkwêntôwin Neighbourhood Renewal. Visit engaged.edmonton.ca/buildingwihkwentowin to provide input until February 8. Community members can also learn more and share feedback at three engagement events, including a virtual event focused on 100 Avenue between 116 Street and 121 Street on January 26 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., and two in-person drop-in events on January 29 from 4:30 - 7 p.m. at Wîhkwêntôwin School, 10227 118 Street NW, and January 31 from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Holy Child School, 9844 110 Street NW.
Defining what Edmonton will look like in the future:
