Dear colleague
Improvements to the Edexcel Online Statement of Entry (SoE) Report
We continually review feedback from centres that use our systems so we can make improvements and help to make processes and reports clearer and more accessible for our users. Thank you, we really appreciate your support with this.
I’m delighted to let you know that based on insights from centres, we’ve made a number of improvements to the General Qualifications Statement of Entry (SoE) report in Edexcel Online to make it clearer, more informative, and easier to use.
What improvements have been made?
Downloading and managing statements We’ve enhanced the way statements are generated and accessed:
- Centres can now download reports for full cohorts, not just individual candidates
- File names now include the report name, centre ID, session, and candidate number—making documents easier to identify
- Reports are now generated almost instantly, significantly reducing previous wait times
Alerts and explanations The footer of the report will now display clear alerts where relevant, including:
- Exam clashes: An '!' symbol will appear after the paper duration to highlight any clashes.
- Unit entries: A message will appear stating: “To receive an advanced level or advanced subsidiary cash‑in award, the cash‑in entry must exist.”
- Missing UCI: A warning will read: “Missing UCI, request centre to supply the UCI.”
Visual enhancements and changes to hard copy statements To improve clarity and usability, the report now includes:
- UCI displayed at the top of the document
- One candidate per page for easier reading and printing
- Qualification and series shown clearly at the top of the page
- Page numbers on multi‑page SoEs
- Date stamping on each report
- Timetable dates formatted as Day/DD/MMM/YYYY (AM/PM)
- Exam durations shown in hours and minutes
These improvements will take effect in Edexcel Online from 27 January. As a result of these improvements, centres will no longer automatically receive printed copies of the SoE report. If you still wish to be sent printed copies you can opt in to receive them via Edexcel Online after 27 January. You will need to do this before making entries.
