Dear Quality Nominee
Our collaboration with Liverpool Football Club on units for our BTEC International Level 3 qualifications in Sport comes to an end this year. This means that, from 1 September 2026, you won’t be able to deliver the following units to new cohorts:
- Unit 21: History of Liverpool Football Club
- Unit 22: Liverpool Football Club as a Business
- Unit 37: The Liverpool Coach – Employability Skills
- Unit 38: Coaching Football the Liverpool Way
What this means for your students
If you have students currently registered on a BTEC International Level 3 Sport programme and are delivering any of these units, you can continue to do so, and those students will still be able to certificate with these units. This change will only affect new student registrations from September 2026.
What’s next?
It’s been a privilege to have been able to collaborate with Liverpool Football Club to develop this qualification. We’ll launch new Sport qualifications later this year that will offer a broader and more diverse range of units that reflects the evolving Sport sector internationally.
In the meantime, keep an eye out for a new version of the current specification that reflects the removal of these units for 2026.
