Go paperless: Digital waste collection calendars now available
February 19, 2026

Waste collection calendars with weekly pickup schedules and yard waste collection dates are available online and through Edmonton’s WasteWise app. The City thanks Edmontonians for embracing digital collection calendars to help reduce waste.

In 2024, the City completed its transition to paperless waste collection calendars by discontinuing the broad distribution of printed calendars. Digital calendars help reduce the environmental impact and costs associated with printing and mailing paper calendars. By viewing waste calendars online or through the WasteWise app, residents have helped reduce the amount of printed calendars by more than 99 per cent.

The move to paperless waste collection calendars is one of the steps the City is taking to continue improving waste reduction in Edmonton. In addition, the City is developing two
Waste Reduction Roadmaps that will outline actions and programs for residents and businesses to help make waste reduction easier. More information about the roadmaps will be available later this year.

New waste collection schedules are updated online and in the WasteWise app at the beginning of each year. Residents can find their calendar, along with step-by-step instructions and a tutorial video on how to view and print calendars at home at
edmonton.ca/WasteCalendar. The City’s WasteWise app also allows residents to view their collection calendar, receive collection-day reminders and access other timely information.
